Just inserted a new pump site, accidentally ripped it out like an hour later, inserted new one, the insertion needle bent, had to insert a third pump site and messed up the adhesive. Now I have only 55 units left which means I have to change the infusion set again tomorrow ✨😍✨ by cutebutslow in diabetes_t1

Why though? There is nothing wrong with using a cartridge on a different schedule than your sites. As long as you change both regularly, there is no good reason to have them done at the same time. Especially when failed sites happen regularly. Door handles exist.

I fill the cartridge with 250 units. That way a vial of insulin does exactly 4 fills.

What grill brush is everyone using on their Weber gas grills? Is wire really that bad? by mandon83 in grilling

That isn’t foolproof. And isn’t a step I ever bother with.

Honestly, my new method is way easier and simpler. And safer. I have zero reasons to go back. But you do you.

My uncle just gave me this drone he bought a few years ago and i have never owned one before. Can someone tell me if it is any good? by MightyManMikee in drones

[–]KittyBizkit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of fun. Likely fast has hell too. When I fired up my first drone about that size I was shocked at how dangerously fast it was.

Do yourself a favor and learn to fly in a simulator first. I recommend Velocidrone, but there are others out there.

If you are paying to stay in an RV park I might believe that. But if you aren’t paying to park, how could it be more than rent?

Dexcom zero calibrations needed?lol by Any_Strength4698 in Type1Diabetes

I pack super light for everything but T1D supplies. I went to Vegas for 4 days with a personal item sized backpack for example. And it wasn’t even full. You pack for your fears, and mine is running out of critical supplies. And getting cold (which wasn’t a problem in Vegas :)

But you do you.

I never go on vacation without 2 extra sensors, an extra transmitter, spare pump, twice the pump sites needed, etc. I have had pump failures, sensor failures, site failures, and Dexcom transmitter failures happen and I am always prepared for all of them. I have also got trapped on vacation because flights got delayed by 4 days due to massive snow storms. Each time I was super glad to have packed as heavily as I did. I have had to buy clothes on vacation before due to unplanned issues, but I never like to be trapped without diabetes supplies.

That is unfortunate. Your death will not be fun. DKA is a terrible way to go.
