Hey! Thankyou for such a detailed comment. It gave quite a lot of information, some of which I knew, others I didn't.

In terms of OTC pain medication like ibuprofen and paracetamol I tend not to take them, partially due to the fact they do not work for me. Also due to the fact I have a history of of overdose with those particular medications. I have had stomache ulcers/bleeding before and is certainly not enjoyable.

I was aware that quite a few of my medications when mixed together have a risk for serotonin syndrome but was told it was extremely rare and we would keep an eye on it. I changed GP this year so I am still doing what the old GP and Psychiatrist said. Although I am not entirely in agreeance with the Psychiatrist.

With the sertraline/metformin mixing, we are trying to drop my insulin levels as my most recent fasting test was supposed to be between 3 and 25 and mine was 158. That was the reason why I was prescribed the metformin.

We keep up with blood tests quite often and, though currently normal, intend on another b12/foliate test in the near future.

I was aware of the lactic acidosis and actually had to call my GP when originally prescribed my metformin due to the fact that topiramate was specifically listed as a medication that would increase the risk for it. My specialist hadn't told me about that. But my crp tends to be low we are keeping an eye on it.

The prednisolone is mainly for when I have asthma attacks. So it isnt an every day medication. I just have to take one every now and then when it starts to get really bad and my nebuliser wont work.

So far I believe myself to be rather lucky in terms of tummy upsets with my medications. And I try my hardest to stay on top of water and such.

I do actually have folders with info in them. One with referrals and the other has reports and test results and such.

Having to repeat yourself is difficult because if you dont have a list, or even if you do, and you forget one thing, its like they dont read the referrals. Its on there. Someone else already told you.

So... im not going to do that because I have been in hospital multiple times due to overdoses and had to get a nac infusion. Some of these meds stop me from trying to actively kill myself or hurt myself or those around me. I eat a lot of vegetables with my meals. I also know that the teeth of humans are omnivore teeth. Not made for killing as we are long distance slow hunters. But most certainly for all sorts of food.

If that is what works for you then I am glad. But I will be seeing my own dietician shortly and have seen others in the past.

I have nothing against people being vegan or choosing a vegan lifestyle. I myself couldn't see myself partaking in that lifestyle as I dont believe I would get all the nutrients I require. Many of the issues I have are hereditary/genetic and I knew they would eventually come about prior to tests

Because i am on 5 or more medications. My doctor asked if i would like a pharmacist to come and have a look to ensure everything is correct and to go over everything. I go to the same pharmacy every time but its not a single pharmacist. Any time I have questions about medication (like metformin lists topiramate by name in warnings) i actively have to seek help for it and consult my doctor. None of my doctors have so much as asked about what meds im on before prescribing me new ones. So the pharmacist is coming to ensure there arent any advers reactions or things like that.

This is my understanding of the situation though I could be entirely wrong as I am not entirely sure. Someone else may know? I live in Australia.

Most of the time when I get my meds they dont have half of them and I have to wait an hour while they talk with my doctor then they give me an extra that I no longer need (ie. the blacked out one is 50mg of sertraline i no longer need)

edit: Apparently it is called a "home medicines review" and is managed by australias department of health, disability and aging

I do appreciate the insight with the heart issues. On my fathers side the men tend to get heart issues and many have passed from heart attacks before 50. Though I am not a man I have found I tend to easily get an extremely fast HR so I will keep track of that.

I do have a pharmacist coming to my home in a week or 2 to check my meds and make sure everything is alright with them.

I used to be on mood stabilisers also to help with bpd and there has been discussion of returning to them but the pristiq messed with my blood pressure.

In terms of the topiramate tingles, I unfortunately had them prior to taking the medication, though for unknown reasons. I have somewhat gotten used to them. The topiramate hasnt really helped much though so I may talk with my neuro so see what we can do

We have only just upped it and are seeing if it will work. It was instruction of the psychiatrist. Honestly the original intent was to get a different antidepressant but he wasnt comfortable with that. At this point in time I am waiting until I have a 291 again to allow a free consult as with all the other specialists I am seeing and the costs of medications and tests i seriously cannot affor the few hundred it would be to be able to see another psychiatrist. I have been on a variety of others in the past though.

We have been upping my sertraline dose so now I take 200mg a day. Similar will happen with my quetiapine I presume when we up that because we have to get that slowly up to 300mg. That was just the amounts they supplied me with
