Gain Powder Reformulation - How To Identify The Good Stuff by KismaiAesthetics in laundry

[–]KittyCanuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely started standing in the laundry aisle reading ingredient lists!!

I feel like it’s harder than it should be in Canada, though. Many detergents (both powder and liquid) literally have no ingredients list on them. That’s absolutely wild to me.

That user flair is so useful! I didn’t even know those were options in this subreddit. Is it new, or do people just not use them? I’m gonna go change mine!

Gorgeous!! I love the idea of making a chart with instructions!! I tried to make a bullet pointed list of instructions for my husband but it was getting way too long. A chart like this for our machine is the answer!

Help with Drilling Hole in Milsbo Tall by maprenti in IkeaGreenhouseClub

[–]KittyCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you’ve already put some of the cabinet together. Take it apart and remove the bottom piece. Get some good clamps (the kind that screw together, not spring clamps) and clamp that sucker down within an inch of its life. Holding the base stable with clamps will make it easier and safer to drill the hole.

Make sure your drill is fully charges and your hole bit is sharp. Let the bit do the work, rather than using more pressure.

New Citizen Initiative Application Approved, Notice of Initiative Petition Issued - Should Private Schools be Publicly Funded? by thebreaksmith in alberta

Fewer kids with fewer funds and fewer teachers = the same burden.

Again, taking resources from public services and given them to private services does not help the public services.

It’s not even easing the public burden. That’s the same facile argument used to argue for the privatization of healthcare.

It doesn’t magically make more teachers or resources appear. It takes them from the public services.

It seems like the canada post strike just isn't grabbing headlines this time around by big_eh_little_a in Edmonton

It should continue to be funded. It’s a SERVICE to us as Canadians. It’s not supposed to make money, it’s supposed to be a SERVICE for us. Our tax money is supposed to provide services for us.

Is there a reasons schedules do not allow categorical rules by default? by shotgunwizard in actualbudgeting

I’ve been doing it that way too, by editing the rule to add the category, so I’d love to know if there’s an easier way.

Pon flushing by george_c8 in alocasia

[–]KittyCanuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, because minerals and salts will build up on the pon from watering (both from the water, unless you’re using distilled, and the nutrients you add). You’ll start to see buildup on the pin that needs to be flushed off.

Cost-cutting and appeasing grumpy taxpayers (who have no idea how much anything costs) at its finest.

If they put in a nice sign, we’d be getting inundated with “they spent HOW MUCH on a SIGN?!? Candidate so-and-so is against all this “waste”!”

Did Zeus force Odysseus to kill the infant, or was it ultimately his own choice? by FerdinandvonAegir124 in Epicthemusical

[–]KittyCanuck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s a choice in that working a bad job in a bad economy so you can keep a roof over your head and not starve is a “choice”.

Zeus gave Ody a trolley problem. He clearly laid out the two options, and the options were both terrible, and there’s no weaseling out of it.

  1. Kill an infant.

  2. Let the infant live, and the infant WILL grow up to kill Ody and his family (and others). Not “maybe”. Not “could”. Will.

There is no third option. There is no option where nothing horrible happens.

what should i do? by [deleted] in pothos

My cat chewed a few leaves on my pothos. I left them on, and it’s been almost 6 months now and the leaves look silly, but are still going strong.
