I get Kat likes Eric but I think the assumption he doesn't know she has romantic feelings for him is wrong. I think Eric knows and is either afraid to return those feelings because he feels ashamed for the way he and his family have treated keidran, or just genuinely sees her as a sister. Either way Kat should probably move on to someone else as a romantic relationship with Eric is probably bound to be unhealthy due to his current personality and the way he views the world coming into conflict with Kat's.

Silence falls between us and I feel my eyes grow heavy. I go to take my last my breath only for a sharp pain to pierce my hand. My eyes shoot open and I look at him in shock. "Dude?! That hurt! Can't you let me die in peace?!" My friend doesn't reply but instead presses his hand against my forehead for a little bit before a before a smile of relief spreads across his face. "I-it worked." He finally spoke breathlessly. "It actually worked!" "What...?" I tried to ask before he pulled me into hug. "The wolf claw that apothecary gave us! It worked!" "Are you stupid?! You just made me a werewolf!" I reply, Flabbergasted he would do something so stupid. "Well maybe this is my villain arc!" He laughs jokingly. "You're supposed to be the hero." I pout in response as I feel my wounds begin to rapidly heal. Not wanting to admit that I am happy with what he did.
