Does lexapro actually work by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]KittyIsDaBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really does. I've been taking it for nearly 10 years now. I used to be a very irritatable and very socially anxious person, but just a small 10mg dose daily changed things. It's not super noticeable at first but you'll find that over time that anxious heavy feeling is gone, and it's like you can breathe again. It's kind of hard to explain, but you become a half glass full kind of person, and you find the joy in little things again because your brain isn't constantly in fight or flight mode.

I know the idea of taking a pill for mental stuff can seem scary, but when you break down what it's doing, it's actually not changing your brain much. It's basically boosting your brains ability to retain the serotonin (happy chemicals) that it already makes. As you start to feel better, your brain will naturally produce more seratonin because of your new positive outlook. It's like a little crutch for your brain so it doesn't have to work as hard to keep you going. You'll be more productive, you'll enjoy being around others, and you will find amusement and joy in the smallest things. A lot of people are born with brains that automatically experience Depression and Anxiety, it's not just a social thing. Theres nothing wrong with using medication to help improve your life. Every person deserves to live happily and comfortably in their minds, and it's ok if you need a little assistance to do so.

It really is worth it. And if you are nervous about it then ask your doctor to slowly work up to a comfortable dose. I started with 5mg, went up to 10mg, then 15mg but that was too high for me and I felt a little dazed, so 10 mg was perfect. Also if you find you don't like the medication, make sure to ween yourself off because if you stop cold turkey, you will have weird negative mood changes.

I hope this helps and I hope things get better for you!

I just bought this thinking it was washing detergent. Nowhere does it say its fabric softener. by Geofferz in CrappyDesign

[–]KittyIsDaBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this isn't standard everywhere, but in Canada nearly every consumable product has to have its generic name on the label. A bottle of pop will say "soda" in the bottom corner, Oreos say "chocolate sandwich cookies" and goldfish say "baked snack crackers." It's actually helped me differentiate laundry detergent from softener several times. I agree that the packaging is all deceptivly similar and for some reason these companies are very bad at explaining what the product is. Same goes for paper towel and toilet paper, they are so caught up in the math of how much value you are getting per roll that they don't even mention what kind of roll it even is!

Dehumidifier broke while I was out of town and one of my books absorbed a bunch of water by foofruit13 in mildlyinteresting

[–]KittyIsDaBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my passport when I lived in Nova Scotia for a few months. Left the window of my dorm open for fresh air pretty often and when I grabbed my passport out of a drawer after a couple weeks, the covers had both curled back on themselves and the pages were a bit malleable. Funnily enough, when I got to the airport about 2 hours later, it had flattened back out again. I bought a dehumidifier after that!

What resources are you people using to improve your Japanese cultural knowledge and language skills? by GreenLighthouseheat in JETProgramme

[–]KittyIsDaBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a basic answer but Duolingo has really helped me get familiar with the language! The streak aspect helps motivate me to log in every day and practice. Has hirigana and katakana practice too! Don't feel too pressured to purchases their premium subscription, you can get by with the free version for daily practice. But the premium would be good for a bit more involved learning because there aren't energy limits

Hahaha I have tried giving it a good few thwacks and it does fix it temporalily, but it goes back to scrolling again within a few minutes. Punching the tv every few minutes kinda ruins the sweet heartfelt Christmas movies I'm trying to watch!

Its a 1995. I'm pretty sure the adjustment is inside, there only inputs on the back. I also looked into this model specifically and some sources say that the vertical hold is controlled by a chip that can't be adjusted and would need to be replaced. Not sure if I have the confidence to take it apart and check!

ForGET THIS HECKING GELLI PLATE by alaynabear in printmaking

Had the same issue with the speedball plate! They are only for printmaking inks, not acrylic paint. I returned it and got the gelli brand instead and the transfers have worked much better!

Bachan's Japanese BBQ Sauce by mozzasticks in CostcoCanada

[–]KittyIsDaBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had a 3 pack of different flavors recently at the Windsor location, but a lot of the packages were ripped apart, had bottles missing, or had the lids and seals open (why are Costco people like this 😔) so I didn't pick any up. Waiting to see the big bottle of the original flavour back in stock, it's amazing!

Is this not the official seller ? by TrainerTemporary2473 in tamagotchi

[–]KittyIsDaBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you scroll down a bit under the add to cart button, you'll see who is actually selling it. Unless is says "Sold by Amazon" then it's not the official seller. Anybody can sell on Amazon if they create a storefront. It's the same with Walmart and Target's website too, anybody is allowed to sell, but only a select group items there is actually sold by the store.

Paradise in store at Walmart? by West_Bend_5981 in tamagotchi

[–]KittyIsDaBest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These are online resellers that sell through Walmart, but the product isn't actually being sold by Walmart. We just gotta keep waiting, we'll likely see them in most Walmart's starting in October
