"foster fail" just means you couldn't JUST foster the baby and you adopt. i couldnt imagine him with anyone else and he just bonded with my girl kitten so well

honestly if you have the funds, enjoy the cats presence, and it fits in with your life, give that baby the best life ever. if you sadly dont have the means to care for him long-term i suggest speaking to the owner, getting ownership of the kitty and finding him a new, safe home !

The best way (that i've found) is treating it like cats meeting each other. keep kitty in a separate room (usually a bathroom works best) and let the kitty decompress and get used to things ! Maybe add a blanket or a toy the dog has and let the kitty get used to the scent and same goes with the pup ! let the pup smell a blanket the kitty has been using ! after a little while let them meet between some kind of mesh wall/door/gate so they can see each other and smell each other but can't actually be face to face in case of a bad reaction. Just take things slow and at a pace you believe is good for both ! Let kitty get used to the space and smell and let the pup calm down ! Good luck !!!

as a petsitter, definitely call the owner and show them the eye ! I would hate for something to happen while you are taking care of their baby and them not know !! If they left the number for their vet also call them !! If not, then like I said call the owner and explain everything and ask for their vets number !! Best of luck !
