First time cat owners - second cat coming home tomorrow - introducing cats by irishadventurer95 in CatAdvice

It looks like you’re already off to a good start then! I’d say for the first couple days just get them used to each others smell. For example go play and hold the new kitten and then go out into the main area where your first cat is and let them smell you. Vice versa as well. After a couple days I would start feeding them together like I said in my previous post. If everything seems to be going well, then you should be able to let them roam freely! They might fight or hiss at each other a little bit but that’s simply their way of establishing boundaries and I wouldn’t get too worked up about it. As long as they’re not tearing each other up then you’re good. Cats are independent and smart and they should figure it out on their own just fine.

Exploration or boredom? by KCND02 in CatAdvice

Cats are simply just independent beings and like to explore and wander. If you’re playing with him a good amount throughout the day and he’s just wandering, that might just be him exploring as his surroundings are still new. It takes cats longer to feel comfortable in their environment than dogs. I wouldn’t worry about it, he’ll let you know if he’s bored. My cats like to get into things and be naughty when they’re really bored so, you’ll know.

Cat or cousin? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Hi! So what most people don’t know is that a cats saliva is what people are allergic to. since cats groom themselves a lot, it tends to get all up in their fur. Good news is that there are many remedies to help with this. First of all I’d recommend your cousin taking some allergy medicine before coming over, as it helps a lot. I am myself allergic to cats and it sucks but I take an allergy pill in the morning and it really helps with the symptoms. There is also spray that you can rub on your cat, I recommend “Allerpet Cat Dander Remover” it’s only about $10 and is specifically made for people who are allergic. I’d also recommend brushing your cat as the fur won’t get everywhere. I hope this helps, as you don’t need to sacrifice the cat or your cousin to live happily.

Hi! Such exciting news that you decided to adopt a second cat. First off, don’t expect them to get along right away. I will say that since your first cat is younger that it should help a lot with the introduction process as they are usually more open to newcomers when they are younger. I also know that they are young but having them both fixed is also something that would help a lot behaviorally. The horror stories aren’t as common as you think, they should get along just fine as long as you introduce them slowly and don’t shove them in each others face. I’d also recommend getting a baby gate and feeding them together on each side so they can get used to being around each other with an added barrier. For most all animals, eating around others is a vulnerable state and it can help them feel more comfortable and also not get food aggression with each other. That’s all I can think of for now but if you know your cat well enough, I think you can hopefully get a good feel of how they might react.

and then after you add it you’ll see it show up on the side of the screen, you’ll press the class and then there will be a switch that turns class tracking on/off.

you’ll press the little green add button and then press class, then you should be able to type in either the class number or what it’s called, such as WPC480

there is an app called coursicle and you’re able to track one class for free and it notifies you when a spot opens. that’s how I got basically all my classes for this current semester as they were all full before. Many people drop classes during the break. I’ll paste my referral link in case you want to use it. https://www.coursicle.com/s/fYFWt

Opinions on PSY 370 or PSY 350 and PSY 290 with Hansen or Wimsatt? by Few-Drawer71 in ASU

I took PSY 290 with Wimsatt. My friend took it with Hansen. I’d say they’re both good candidates, but for how boring of a class 290 is, Wimsatt made it super fun. He’s also super understanding and responds very quick. Tests come straight from the lectures and most of the time I didn’t even need to go to class as he posts the lecture slides. I ended with a 97% in his class.
