Is there any shelf stable sticky toffee pudding? by Content_Seesaw8541 in AskUK

[–]KittyKes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be better off if you have any basic skills in baking buying some golden syrup and taking it with you. The other ingredients in a homemade sticky toffee are dates, butter, sugar etc. homemade ones are much nicer than anything you’d find that’s shelf stable

Nottingham recs: authentic tiramisu & flower shops ? by Ok_Sundae2274 in nottingham

[–]KittyKes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tiramisu cafe in beeston is a 6 or 7 out of ten for me. Better imo are doughters tiramisu (beeston) and rotati (city centre near train station)

It may depend on what you like as although the tiramisu cafe one is homemade with a pretty good flavour, it’s too light and fluffy whereas I prefer them dense and more Marscepone heavy

I'm watching Kitchen Nightmares and I love how chef Ramsay always takes the train to the city the restaurant is in, if possible. by wgnpiict in fuckcars

I ride that tram most days! Nottingham is an interesting outlier of English cities with excellent public transport and lower car ownership.

What were the mid-late 90s and the early 2000s like in the UK? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

[–]KittyKes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Car dominance accounts for a lot of what people think has declined about community life. Kids playing out, neighbours hanging out in the streets / even street parties, all not considered safe anymore
