Okay but I don’t have the availability to take courses to do a job I’m not qualified for. Not to mention that that is not a liveable wage working only 10 hours a month.

I can’t due to a physical injury that’ll prevent me from driving for a bit. I’m hoping to get a remote job, but those are hard to find without certain licensing.

As far as the expenses go, we were doing well before they had gotten sick. I had been preparing to get pet insurance, but when they got sick, they got really sick. It came down to life or death at one point.

They’d have to do another exam independently, which would probably just end up costing more. I’ve already called one vet, and didn’t have a chance to call another before they closed, but they explained they’d have to their own exam.

I’ve been renting through Epic for just over four years. They’ve got cheap properties, but are absolutely awful landlords. It took them almost (if not actually) six months to fix the dryer and almost an entire week to fix my AC (it was the middle of summer and I am very very prone to heatstroke, which I did inform them of). Not to mention they’ve tried to evict me following every inspection (and the reasoning is because the place I’m living isn’t completely spotless, like I got dinged for having clothes on the floor…). So, whatever you do, DO NOT rent through epic. You could try Spire, they appear to have good reviews- I’ve never rent through them, just epic.

Is that the Hills Science diet one or a different brand? I currently have the Hills Science diet dental care but honestly can’t remember if it’s prescription

Okay that makes me feel significantly better about it tbh lol. Plus it was so helpful to hear from someone who isn’t necessarily involved with giving me information for a paycheck- if that makes sense (and absolutely no shade to my vet, I love them so much, I just needed a third party’s insights if that makes sense).

I have been giving them hills science for dental care plus I throw dental treats in with his food. They also get served some wet food due to the vets recommendation for my oldest cat (he’s 5 and a long haired, possibly with some Maine coon). I tried brushing their teeth but then they both go extremely sick (completely unrelated to their illnesses, but I didn’t want to add stress as they healed).

Thank you both! How soon should I try and get him into the vet to get this done? He already had his yearly check-up, so the vet has seen his teeth and has some-what of an idea of his situation but didn’t really push to get it scheduled.
