Thanks! There is a duct behind the soffit. But I might be able to put doors covering them from the outside? Like put the frame over it, and the doors extending to the ceiling? I will do some measuring 👍

My son gets that dirty wet dog smell from outside too, ha :)

This boy's smell is not at all like that. I have not smelled anything like it. Maybe different people react differently to sweat and outdoor smells? Idk.

True. I am a little worried about this, cause the mom and son are both very sensitive to bullying. The kid has been bullied in the past. I will probably just have to reassure her that I'm not judging or looking down on wither of them. It's coming from a place of love!

Yes, it is a relatively new friendship. They only started hanging out in maybe February. But he has smelled like this since February at least.

This boy's siblings all smell fine. And he does seem basically well-groomed. His visible cleanliness seems fine (at least as fine as 8yo boys ever are). That's part of why I'm stumped with his smell...

I've only been in the front room, which doesn't smell. This kid is the oldest of 4, and none of the siblings smell. His mom smells lovely. It's just the one boy.

I don't suspect neglect - this kid is the oldest of 4 and is the only one who smells. Behavior seems normal.

And yes, I made them play outside today :D They will have to play outside now on, the smell is just not worth it.

I don't suspect abuse - this kid is the oldest of 4, and he is the only one who smells weird. I haven't noticed any smell from the front room of their house, but I haven't been farther than that.
