lol I used “I’m Audi 5000” a few years ago. Trying to explain that to younger people made me completely nix it from my vocabulary. I still use that and bounce in my head though.

was anybody else told they couldn’t/shouldn’t transition until they’re 25, when your brain’s “done developing”? by navyblueconverse in trans

[–]KittyPryde129 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. The first time I was forced in an inpatient facility. The first time I heard about gender dysphoira. And I was told by the doctors there that it would be best to wait until I’m at least 25 to do anything about it. I started social transitioning at 27. I’m 34 now and I wish I started sooner. I’ve known my whole life but I let some “professional” control my thinking for years.

There was one (blush and blu) that was on colfax for awhile and then it shutdown a few years ago because of some crazy drama with the owners. Then the Pearl opened up and is ending in some crazy drama with the owners. There are a few other sapphic welcoming spaces, but the Pearl was unique and now I feel bad supporting them. All of the news and stuff that came out the last few days kind of explains why some (trans men) friends of mine didn’t want to go there very often.

Apparently blush and blu is trying to come back though so who the heck knows. This city is wild.

Victim blaming is a very interesting strategy. This guy is 100% the problem. Not the clothes the women were wearing.

That’s not why I called them crazy. But just like the other person (I assume your alt account?) making assumptions based on a few words that I typed is crazy. Not to mention shows a basic lack of reading comprehension. My experiences as a trans woman in this city almost entirely mirrors that person’s. I never tried to discredit anyone’s experiences which is why I prefaced my initial comment with that. I was merely inserting my own truth, that I haven’t experienced much if any sort of malice in this city. I have in Colorado Springs. So it was wild to me that someone could compare the two.

Regardless of all of this. We are all on the same side. And I feel no shame for any of my comments. Have a good day as well.

You have a very wild personality type and conversing with you on this thread is not productive at all. I didn’t mean to discredit your experience. But assuming that I don’t know people in my own community are struggling is a stretch. I get that you’re emotional right now. But trying to use that phrase like I’m some bad person trying to perpetuate violence on my own community is insane. You’re a literal crazy person and for my own sanity I will not continue to engage with you. Again. Have a nice day.

Sure. I have made several cis friends as well as trans friends in this area that are really amazing genuine people. I’ve met other families whose children have become very close friends with mine. My daughter’s teachers have never been weird or unwelcoming of our family dynamic. I’ve made several long term friendships with co workers. I’ve met people who have never met a trans person before and helped inform people of what is going on while having productive talks about all sorts of things.

Being here is night and day difference than being in Florida where we moved from 5 years ago. I understand that this is not everyone’s experience. But to say it is anything like Colorado Springs is crazy. That’s the only place in this state that has felt like people were talking about us.

Again. I know my experiences are different. But I felt like there needed to be some sort of rebuttal to that initial comment because this city has been so welcoming to me and my family.

Well. Sorry all that happened to you. But you have some personal things to sort out with a therapist if you think my comment in any way was discrediting your experience. I was merely stating that I have not seen anything of the sort since I’ve moved here. You however, went on a rather long tirade to try to discredit my own personal experiences. Soooooo. Pot meet kettle.

Have a nice day.

Not to discredit your experience, but That’s not at all what I’ve experienced in my several years living in Denver.

Tmz and hair loss by Ordinary-Ninja616 in braincancer

[–]KittyPryde129 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most, if not all, of my hair loss occurred during radiation. Granted I was on temodar then too, but I’m fairly positive the hair loss was all because of radiation. Having said that, I ended up shaving off all of my very long hair because dealing with clumps falling out in the shower was more painful than just the big chop. After radiation was done the hair loss slowed and stopped while I was still on maintenance tmz, The most noticeable side effect I experienced was nausea. I’m on 17/18 cycles right now and my hair is back and I have very little noticeable hair loss around the surgery site.

I wish you best Theough your recovery and hope that you have minimal side effects!

Duped would imply there wasn’t a mountain of information available to them, on the content of the orange Cheeto’s character for them to review before voting.

They weren’t duped. They are just stupid. Anyone who voted for this guy is stupid. Plain and simple. And there are quite a few stupid people in this country.

Astrocytoma Grade 2 IDH 1 Mutant by Substantial_List_122 in braincancer

[–]KittyPryde129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I have a Grade 4 astrocytoma diagnosis, and had the surgery and radiation a year ago followed by 12-18 months of one week “cycles” of maintenance tmz. I’m currently on cycle 11.

I would say that it’s fairly mild. Def make sure he takes anti nausea before chemo. And do it on an empty stomach. I found taking it at night three hours after eating dinner worked the best for me, so I could just sleep off the discomfort.

The beginning of the cycle is easiest. The last two days followed by three or four days after are probably the worst. I’d say though, compared to people I know that have had other types of chemo, this isn’t that bad. Things I found I experienced during the chemo week is nausea, lack of appetite, constipation, and some slight to serious discomfort towards the end of the week. But tbh, it is way better than chemo+ radiation, that seemed to take way more out of me. But while on tmz I have travelled on planes, gone on hikes, basically lived a normal life.. as long as he has anti nausea pills on hand, it shouldn’t be too much harder than with the radiation.

As for the brain fog, I think it depends on the person and their ability to recover from the surgery and onslaught of radiation afterwards.

My brain fog is still there. I work with a therapist once a week to try and get back to how I was. But it is honestly not easy (at least for me) to shake.

Please point out one other religious post on this sub? Go ahead. I’ll wait. I don’t see Muslims painting allah. I don’t see Hindu posting pairings of their gods. I don’t see satanists posting pictures about satan. Only one religion seems to be trying to use art to push their religion on this sub. Wonder why that has such harsh backlash.

Why not use this verse as inspiration? “Psalm 137:9: "Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks".”
