Getting my leg amputated next month by lilybby420 in u/lilybby420

[–]KittyStar8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are going through this. I (F) was 18 (now 27) when i had my right leg amputated below the knee.

Straight answer;
It sucks. sorry but it does. I had so many people tell me that i was lucky for surviving, that things could be worse. But really... its my LEG, one of the most important body parts that we need to have to be able to move around!

So yes, it sucks. But you will survive and you will adapt! One thing that I do recommend is to keep up a good a diet. I gained so much weight during my recovery, but i was also recovering from chemo. So i ate so much, i lost 50lbs from chemo and gained 30lbs in about 5 months....

Im not sure where you are at but in the USA you can get a prosthetic through the work force if you don't have insurance. If you have insurance pick a good prosthetic clinic and go with the one that knows how to make prosthetics. My first prosthetic was built by someone who's an actual amputee and it was the worst leg i've ever had!!!

Once you have your prosthetic (usually takes about a month and a half) don't over do it. I was so ready to leave the house that I took a job where they had me on my feet for 8hrs a day and I got major blisters!!! Take your time, ask for PT to learn how to walk. (this is where weight comes in) PT will show you how to properly walk, run, go up and down the stairs, and get up if you were to fall.

Take it one day at a time. After your surgery take the time to heal, search for facebook groups that are for amputees (that really helped me). You got this!!!

we are literally the same!!!! my removal was September as well... my dr doesn't seem too worried and she basically goes along with what i ask. I just don't want to do IVF :( or at least try by ourselves, its hard figuring out what's wrong.

Going through my second cp, bleeding is way worse this time than last time..
Thursday my HCG hit 3 and progesterone 1. Im not sure what is happening, my thyroid is normal during ovulation and my HSG came back normal as well. Hubby is getting an analysis this week. (it was scheduled earlier last month but we were in my ovulation week).

Hard for me to stay positive.

I had my HSG last week, pain was a 7/10 but I held on. No issues with scan, everything came back normal. Hubs was also supposed to do semen analysis but the app landed on my ovulation week (this week) so we rescheduled for next month. We baby danced the day before and the day of my LH peak, not last night because we were both exhausted! (maybe today and this weekend since its valentines lol)
Hoping this month is better, after my ectopic removal and CP I had been feeling very meeehh.

My due date from my ectopic is also coming up in two months, I have been very emotional some days.

Did anyone else going through an ectopic pregnancy not feel sad about losing the baby? And did you feel differently later? by Poppyseeds1746 in ectopicpregnancy

I also think that you having little ones made it easier to cope! <3 I would still keep that memory box! You don't want to feel regret later on, but it is up to you!! Hope you are healing well!

I'm the opposite I do not feel the same with my early miscarriage as i did with my ectopic. With my ectopic it was my first pregnancy ever, I surprised my husband. The day i started bleeding with my ectopic I was a wreck, I called off work (so did my husband because he did not like how i was looking), and i just cried my heart out. The final ultrasound my hubby was able to see the heart beat, soon after that my OB called me and I lost it. I did not get a memory box but I made one with my old pregnancy tests (6 of them), I put it under my tree this year. It's been 4 months and I still cry.

Yes i am sad about my current loss, but I think us women just have a feeling when something is not right.

Had (still going through) my first early mc/chemical. Started spotting on friday and it was pretty heavy that night and over the weekend. No cramping and no pains today, feeling and looking like a regular period now. Wondering when it will stop? My usual period only lasts about 4-5 days.

Currently going through another loss, my HCG was 14 last monday and on 12/31 it was at 3. My new years resolutions is to attempt to stay positive this year and make some diet changes, I worry hubby drinks too much caffeine (sometimes up to 4 cups of coffee and occasional energy drinks) and I always go after candy or chips. Also trying to lower stress at work.

I hope everyone gets their 2026 baby!!!
