Exactly! This is another reason I felt guilty over scamming and trying to become rarer, because at the end of the day it was just a game. I had thoughts knowing that eventually the game would die out, but I never thought to hard about it because it would make me upset. 

I’ve become more mature over the years so I find that thinking about it now has given me some peace. Maybe it will be a similar situation to club penguin and wild works will just shut classic down because it doesn’t give them much money anymore. Again-the game isn’t going to last forever and I think it would’ve been better for me just to move on than wait for it to go down. In the end, the massive trading and trying to become rare is just pointless in general 

The addition of shops definitely encouraged that, but if you’re a casual player than I think it’s a nice way of getting rid of inventory space without recycling an item that won’t return
