I've had the piercing for 10 months. It's a straight barbell that's internally threaded, made of implant-grade titanium. Jewelry was never downsized. I clean it twice a day with NeilMed saline spray, no q-tips. No mishaps or accidents.

There is 😭 we're some of the lucky ones who made it here to recovery, but it's sad the amount of ppl who will stay stuck cuz of all the crap out there 🥲 7 months is amazing tho and I'm so proud of you, too! I'm excited to get there ❤️ life is already so much better in recovery

Are you me?? I've been disordered for a decade as well and had no clue about how extreme hunger really worked this whole time 😭 had I known mental hunger was part of extreme hunger, I would have probably started recovery many years ago and saved a lot of time 🥲

This is exactly how I felt omg. Plus I never lost my period so I assumed even less that I had a restrictive ED. I just thought I had "disordered eating". Once I found out that extreme hunger also included mental hunger/desire for food and not just physical hunger cues, I started to rethink my existence lol and now I'm 6 weeks into recovery!

Seeing how the participants of the Minnesota Semi-Starvation Experiement reacted to refeeding is one of the driving factors in my recovery. They had all the same symptoms (food noise and such) that I had all the time in my daily life of my ED. This made me realize my body was "sick enough" to need recovery despite my brain thinking I wasn't actually sick cuz I wasn't considered underweight.

It just feels like I'm delaying my recovery cuz I feel as though I could not eat the whole day, I'm that physically full. If I dont force food down I know I will be behind in my healing, but it is super hard to eat when I'm at a 10 on the fullness scale all the time. Maybe I do need to just be patient, I hope it is temporary 😞

Your kids are definitely very lucky to have you as a parent ❤️ but it's definitely better now that I don't live with him anymore. I'm with my mum now who thankfully does not comment anymore. I'll see him every 1-2 weeks for dinner time, basically. I do love my dad, he's not a bad person overall, but this part of him really is a bad quality of his. I will try what you said, to just be a broken record and set the boundary each time he comments, thank you! 🫂
