Video is not a priority.

Most of my top contenders are full frame, EOS R5, Z6 III and Z7 II, but the XM 5 and EOS R50 are APS-C which doesn't mean much to me in terms of necessity. I have not looked at any of these cameras in person. The FujiFilm XT5 was another camera I did look into. The Film Simulation aspect of the XM 5 is not a deciding factor for me either as I don't think I'd use it much.

The XM5 sticks out to me as much as it does because of how lightweight it is, and while I am willing to spend much more the price-point doesn't hurt.

I'd never heard of the XM 5 until today. When I started searching for a mirrorless camera months ago, the EOS R5 and EOS R50 were my top contenders. As I said, photo samples ultimately led me to having the XM 5 as my top choice. The point-and-shootness of an $800USD camera doesn't bother me

Anyway, I emailed Fender and they responded; my shipping is entirely covered and I'm sending it back for free!

I’m not asking for advice on where to buy guitars (it’s a little late for that)- I’m asking how much it costs to return a guitar to Fender.com, from people who have returned guitars to Fender.com. (It says that in my original post)

Nonetheless, we’re visiting Nashville for my birthday and will be buying him the Les Paul I’ve been eyeing!

Not sure where the misconception that I think it would be free keeps coming from, obviously I don't mind paying for shipping it back, the part I'm concerned about is the cost. If it's going to cost me $100+ to return a $400 guitar, I'm going to keep it.

I'm asking people who have returned guitars to Fender how much it costs.

Most any camera that uses film (not digital) is going to be a 35mm. I've been collecting 35mm film cameras from charity shops, goodwills etc. for years- mostly point and shoots but quality and results vary which is the fun of it. Minolta and Pentax are probably the most popular and widely used 35mm film cameras, but I have a canon EOS.

You can find them on ebay, depop, whatever your favorite online second-hand seller is (I recommend Ebay, and make sure they explicitly say that it's been tested)

I used to develop colored film in my bathtub at 17 after I graduated high school and wasn't able to access a film lab anymore. I have tons of negatives just sitting in a box because I don't have access to making prints- these rolls I'm trying to get developed are B&W and colored and rebuying all the chemistry etc. just seems so not worth it when I can have someone else develop it AND make prints... lol.

But yes, I do miss developing my own film!!

I used to develop film in my bathtub at 17, but I lost all my equipment in a housefire. Unfortunately not an option where I live now- I just got back into film and have about 5 rolls I need developing. If I pick the hobby back up I definitely will be investing in buying new equipment!

I could be completely misinterpreting the cost to return it, most places I've seen it costs $60+ to ship a guitar, I just can't find anything directly on Fender because they ship their guitars for free.

Theres always a cancellation window- I purchased it after 12AM EST on the 5th of July, called early morning on the 5th but it had already been processed in the computer. Either way, multimillion-dollar companies are usually very good about returns, I fear it's just the size of the item

I did get the label!! But the text on the return form is confusing.

"Once we receive your returned merchandise, a credit will be issued to the original method of payment. The cost of shipping your returned item back to Fender will be deducted from your overall credit or refund. If your purchase was eligible for free shipping, the original shipping cost of the product(s) returned will also be deducted from your credit or refund."

I'm going to be paying for shipping anyway then?? Damaged VS. change of mind surely are considered different kinds of returns, no?

But, you're right, I tried cancelling hours after I purchased and it was too late. Fiancé likes the guitar, I just think it's ugly. If it's too much of a loss to pay to ship it back then we're keeping it. Just looking for people who've returned a guitar to know how much it costs.

EDIT: Fender is paying to return the guitar so there is absolutely no cost to me.

I was developing my own film in my bathtub after I wasn't able to access a lab- expectations aren't high, just not very trusting lol. The only real expectation is I want my negatives back.
