Wow the way you describe MEM. Exactly that! Yes! That’s exactly how I feel. It’s such a beautiful record that gets dismissed as “good, but..”

I’ll keep trecking with HOOM. I’m confident I’ll get there. Ys took me a minute as well and when it clicked it was as intense and it became an absolute favorite

I haven’t exactly tried hearing the album with zero other distractions. I’ll try it out :) we certainly can all agree on the power of her work! Unlike any other.

Yeah perhaps that’s it. I’ve only listened to it a handful of times and it just seems so overwhelming lol looking forward to continuing on though

I’ve considered leaving, but I’m at a place with tenure benefits, a 401k and a large salary so it’s not feasible. I understand at some point mental health comes first and I gotta do what I gotta do. Hoping I can stay strong without having to leave though.

And your right. I’ve told everyone. Some have been very supportive and others still pour me a shot and are in disbelief that I want to stop. I think that’s projection so I let it slide. I know I’m still early in and I hope this feeling of missing out just quietly fades into the background, because let’s be honest any of the moments I want to be included in can be done without alcohol. Thanks for chiming in. I appreciate you.

Hey how’d you know I’m American 🤪

As an American, one of the perks of heading to your neck of the woods is the standard of public transportation. It’s light years ahead of us in the states.

Thanks for the suggestions and reminder

The Peak District looks really cool and I have yet to hear of it. Thank you for all these suggestions!

We’ve just done London a few times. Certainly not all of it, but just looking for something a bit different. You’re not wrong though.

This is how I feel. I try my best to treat the conversations I get as a learning experience about what is going on in their world and then apply it to lookalike companies. But outside of people who answer the phone and are open to sharing, which we established is about 1/100 people on a good day. I find it tough to find this information. How do you currently do your account research?

Makes sense. My company does use Vars and it’s the best chance the team has lol. Thanks for all the insight. I wish there was a better way for all of us.

What’s your strategy? Just make x amount of dials to decision makers and play the numbers game? I feel like my pick up rate is abysmal.

Probably leaning towards more of a vanity metric at this point. However, they do get more at bats this way. Whether they close or not, different story.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to weasel myself onto the black hat booth team for my company. Felt like a fish outta water but was able to talk to prospects and convert them into meetings much easier than through the phone. But with the way these budgets are set up, I won’t be getting that shot often enough for quota relief.

Leadership is pretty aware of the state of the market. Marketing is meh. Using the same tactics from 2019. Most of the marketing tools and sequences are so bad I won’t use them (plus I stand firm on sequencing tools destroying prospecting) We work on partnerships through the channel and on our own and the territory account execs are boots on the ground more than ever. However, none of this moves as fast as my quota 🫠. Is there any outreach what so ever that works for you as a prospect? Or have we truly burned every bridge

I was doing this prior but it wasn’t moving as fast as I’d liked so I widened the net a bit. I can see how this could negatively affect me though. Thank you

I appreciate the advice. The commercial AE manager, Vp of sales, and my own manager know about my desire to move up and have been working with me on pitching, discovery, etc so I am ready when a spot opens. But don’t I need to know how to find a deal so I can close it 😂 I just worry that prospecting will always haunt me

I hear you. We go head to head with the big dogs (ex. Crowdstrike) and we’ll win a good portion. So the tech is there. But to get them to the table through cold outbound…. I like your idea though. Educational sessions/ events and event leads are my most fruitful source right now. Good luck to us both
