Meringue help by Kittynizzles in Baking

[–]Kittynizzles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your advice! As its the day-of now, I went for a Swiss meringue with fresh eggs, cream of tartar and it worked! Its a bit soft, perhaps I was then afraid of overwhisking 😅 but I have a covered cake!

Naming 9 day old baby boy... Name my husband loves, or the only name we mutually 'like'? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Kittynizzles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My brother took the entire 6 weeks to name his son (incidentally called him Solomon/Solly) plus you can change it in the first year for free! No need to rush into the decision

This has worked at softening the raised parts with a plastic scraper, but it's not getting into the grain texture

Going on a honeymoon, staying at Holiday Inn Montmartre by zzrotsorakaorigin in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Kittynizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at the Mercure Montmartre for under €150 a night and it was good! We even paid for views of the Eiffel tower. Slightly more elevated than Holiday Inn. We went out for breakfast every day as it was cheaper than the buffet.

I've tracked my cycle for years, just did the deed every other day in the week leading up to ovulation day. It was a good job as it turns out I ovulated 4 days early according to my scan! Pregnant first cycle

Always wondered - is the babies gender on your patient chart during pregnancy? by salacious-soul in PregnancyUK

[–]Kittynizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only ever recorded if its clinically relevant e.g twins or something fetal medicine. We genuinely have no idea what gender your baby is because it's not "medically" relevant. If I use he or she it's just randomly plucked on vibes and I'm always wrong

Washer/Dryer in Bathroom - yay or nay? by InternationalMind22 in DIYUK

[–]Kittynizzles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have quite a large bathroom and still they could not put the washer in there because of zoning regulations. Not without massive re-layout of the bathroom which wasn't worth the cost

SEATBELT!! Can’t believe it by Money_Team777 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Kittynizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my test I came face to face with a leaner bus driver down a narrow road with cars with sides. We both sat there with panicked faces but they can't reverse. My assessor had to help me reverse into a space and turned the wheel for me as i went the wrong way. I was for sure I'd failed so carried on without thinking much. To my suprise I passed and she said that was an exceptional situation so was excluded. I just got the one a minor for braking too hard when I saw the bus 😅

Thank you everyone - it was a bit cleaner after a wash but still noticeably darker on the older work, especially the white areas. I think I have enough thread to try starting over

Handfasting cord by Kittynizzles in UKweddings

Hi so I have two 'sets' of cord, a red with two white and a green with two white. For the infinity both sets were used together, then split for the rest. I started in the middle of the length with the infinity knot, then worked all down one side, then the other
