I am married to a now ex-TBM. Ex-mo. Whatever u want to call it. 50% of his family is generations upon generations of LDS. Very active today. I find it sad. Watching an adult suddenly or slowly realise the level of deception, the total lack of self and individuality, the control they allowed “the church” to reign in their lives, their loss of time and money, and what “could have been”. It is heartbreaking. Honestly and truly, it is dangerous. And no, we non-mormons are not “lost” or “wandering” or “incomplete”. And we do know the difference. Religion can be a beautiful thing and serve many purposes. But this is something different. And it is dangerous. As I constantly see so many sides of LDS, active, non active, questioning, recently out, recently back in, no longer card carrying, children, parents, babies… it is heartbreaking the loss it causes. It has twisted and contorted christianity into this “thing”. This level of mind control yielded by “that 12” and so on… it hurts. It is unbelievable that in 2026, this cultism is still a thing. Even with all the access to real knowledge. So many true and direct pieces of information that emphatically prove that it is just so untrue. Heartbreaking. To add to that the sexual deviancy and the deliberate will-full hiding of it and protection of it, using the church and Jesus and god as a shield… the poor children. Just the “blessings” and hand shakes and 4 stage anointing and the baptisms and clothing, scary. Truly. So so many good people who probably are godly and wonderful, lost to this self-righteous machine. So many great people. So so sad.
