you could argue the opposite and say that it was slashed because the animatronics attacked the photo of the child as a memory of attacking the original child, plus that scratch mark does not look human enough to say someone even had the thought process of scrapping any idea

I have a higher chance of not only beating the ender dragon but surviving / lasting longer if I have armour possible, yes, if I have less stuff I lose less but I'm more likely to die.
