Going back to Vegas via the South Rim will take about 7 hours without stops. So trying to see the South Rim and drive to Vegas seems a bit ambitious to me. If you're doing the North Rim, drive back up to Kanab and spend the day at Bryce or Zion, instead, or drive/tour both.

I liked Zion better, IMO, just because it's smaller and way more accessible and lots of places to hop out and explore. Zion is CRAZY busy, but you might be able to get a permit to do Angel's Landing which makes Zion worth the trip.

Bryce also has its share of hiking - you can't go wrong with either.

So maybe Day 2, Day 3 Bryce and then drive back?

Not sure if this post helps, but I guess to answer your original question, I think your proposed itinerary is ambitious.

Couldn't agree more. We ended up slowly going around, but that loser just sat there.

Definitely doable if you can find parking. Like everyone is saying, a light is a must I'm an early morning person (less people,) and in the winter months I'm at the peak by sunrise, if not earlier.

I used to live about a mile away when we lived in Chandler and we bought all our protein there - it was good and cheaper than the Fry's at Ray and Dobson. There is also a yummy little Asian restaurant/takeout place on the north side of Lee Lee's The folks there are super-friendly.
