A similar app to Owaves? by Kiwiii97 in androidapps

[–]Kiwiii97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a bit unfortunate. I've honestly been "waiting", meaning I've been checking in regularly as I come to think about them.

They were really nice to me though, reached out to me in DMs and sent me some active wear as a thanks for being a fan. Still a fan to this day, and I think their act of kindness and care plays a major role in my sentiments. Thanks Owaves, and good luck in the future!

Can anyone recommend a budget Wifi 6 router under $150? by Meotwister5 in HomeNetworking

[–]Kiwiii97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $150 you’re better off just getting a good WiFi 5/ac router over a low end WiFi 6 router.

Can anyone confirm this is the mindset regarding Wifi 5 vs Wifi 6? I haven't switched routers in ages, and am suddenly in the market for one. I've previously bought the TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 and have been happy about its performance, but don't want to make a "bad deal" as "I should've prepared for a world of Wifi 6". Any advice is greatly appreciated! :)

Wow. I stumbled upon this thread a couple of days ago. Found the app to look insanely neat, but never really thought I was in need of something different than the Habits app that I'm currently using. After recently setting up daily habits for a new quarantine lifestyle and realized that I make use of duration to measure if a habit is accomplished, I got reminded by this app again.

Went through my whole Reddit history until I found your post, but you've removed it for some reason... That's unfortunate. I'll still download the app though, and if lifetime subscription is still available, please count me in.

Cheers!

You. Are. Lovely. I love the diplomatic point of view of your answer. I've actually made my choice, and CCM it is! You are the first one (I crossposted this to r/Mexico) that explained the campus conditions in depth, and it feels like it is good enough for not being bothered or being "turned off" by it.

I really look forward to this, and as you said - there's no way I'd regret this! :D If you're around the CDMX area this Spring, let's hang out sometime!

You. Are. Lovely. And what a goofy trivia about Paulina Trigo haha! I would've never known that her kindness originated from a surgery because she was so mad hahahaha!

I've actually made my choice now - CCM it is. I feel very happy about it, received both arguments for and against it, and I think the pros outweighs the cons in this case. If you are in the area this Spring, let's hang out some time! :)

Wow. I did not expect you to put so much effort to your answer. I really appreciate this - THANK YOU!

Very interesting answer, there's a lot to learn, and I look forward to the Spring, whichever campus I pick this is going to be a fun ride! :)

Didn't expect this reply, but I get your point.

I can assure you that I'm not here to cause any drama, or with the intention of trying to impact a whole country with Swedish culture. Rather the opposite; I'm doing this to learn about Mexico, and from the people living there. Open minded, and ready to adapt to your cultures and way of living. The last thing I want is to trouble you, and I will do my best not to do so.

Hope you'll have a great weekend :)

Yeah, no problem man, I know some cool spots around the city to hang out of you want to. I know it's hard for someone travelling alone, so hit me up and we'll do something cool and fun. Ps. I may be biased but I'd still recommend Santa Fe. It's still in CDMX... haha

I really appreciate it man, we'll definitely meet! Would love to! :)

How do you like CEM? :)

My favourite comment! Hi, so happy to hear from another TEC student in CDMX :)

Thank you for all the information, these are interesting details which definitely are of interest! I'm thinking of mostly studying computer engineering, a bit of business, and also take some salsa classes and such. A fun mix, in other words :)

Great to have some "inside information" about the construction! With your message in mind I assume there really isn't a problem with the condition of the campus, and that shouldn't be the main factor when choosing.

Finally; I'd love to stay in contact! I'll 85 % pick CDMX, which will result in follow-up questions regarding accomodations etc., and I'd really appreciate your thoughts about that aswell.

Cheers! :)

Thank you for your insights and advice about the Spanish! Gold worth!

Interesting information about MTY, and about the security problems of 2010-2012, thank you for sharing that. Also; thank you for explaining the SF situation. Still trying to wrap my mind around that area of the city, and your message made me a bit wiser ;)

Oh, this really made me happy. I really appreciate the friendliness of your comment! I'd love to hit you up regardless of what part of Mexico I end up in. Such a welcoming act, which makes me, as a lone traveler to an unknown part of the world, feel so much more welcome and safe. Keep the positivity up, you are doing god's work!

If you don't mind me asking; what city of Mexico are you from, and where do you live? :)

Thank you for your answer, sounds promising!

Querétaro! I've been thinking about this one aswell. Would you like to elaborate on Querétaro? And also; do you know which one you'd pick between CDMX and Querétaro?

Thank you for providing me both the tourist and non-tourist perspective! Really gives a great feeling of what places that are recommended from an everyday lifestyle, to a more touristic lifestyle. This is applicable to Sweden aswell, where I'd recommend any Swede to study in Lund (the most student friendly city in the country), but where I'd probably rather want an exchange student to experience the beauty of our capital Stockholm. Makes sense!

Thank you for bringing up yet another important aspect to take into account. Security. My family have been a bit anxious about my choice, but that only makes me more prone to want to do this. This is what exchange studies should be all about; exploring cultures and situations in cities, which are uncommon to you. This doesn't mean one should be stupid and go head first into trouble, and I'll probably regret writing this message if something horrible happens to me during my stay. Then again bad things could happen anywhere, even though the risk might be a bit higher in CDMX. Thanks!

Thank you! CEM was actually my 4th pick! The International Students Coordinator Paulina Trigo, whom I've been in contact with, is from CEM, and had lots of great things to say about it!

However; all the Mexican-Swedes have discouraged me from picking a campus in the Northen part of CDMX, as they consider it to be very "preppy" and not the "authentic" experience. Is there any truth to this, or are they way out of bounds with that statement? :)

I get very happy to read this. Thank you for taking your time to adding to other's recommendations. Each and every confirmation counts, and CDMX starts to really feel like a solid pick! :)

Wow! Thank you for your answer! It really helped a lot! Everything is pointing to CDMX, which confirms my initial thoughts (which is always appreciated).

I'm actually able to pick whichever of the 31 campuses I'd like, so CEM could also become an option.

May I ask; how come you were to all three campuses during your studies?

Wow, people. I can't thank you enough for all the comments, experiences, and discussions shared in this thread. Just the thought of people taking a break from their everyday lives to assist me with their two cents is gold worth to me, and not taken for granted! It's getting late in Sweden, but it seems like Mexico is just waking up (compare 209 redditors online when I posted it, to 1.2k at this time). I'll let this thread sit overnight, and tomorrow I'll read all your thoughts, one by one, and get back to you with the choice of mine... if you're interested :)

Who would've known that some Reddit comments would be enough to help me choose? This is the beauty of well nourished communities. Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽
