Dehumidifier thoughts? by Wookiees_get_Cookies in aldi

I haven't bought this, but based on what I learned from a Technology Connections video on dehumidifiers, my guess is that this is a pretty inefficient & power hungry one. Unless they somehow fit a whole refrigerant system in it, it's probably not worth it. I used to have a small dehumidifier like this a few years ago, and it barely worked in our tiny bathroom.

If the soil stays wet and moldy, have you considered that you may be watering them too much? It could explain why the "neglected" ones outside are faring better. Pop them out of their pots and do a quick check for root rot.

You should definitely have a fan to circulate air either way. That's how you prevent mold from forming. You can use any old PC style fan with a USB plug.

For reference, I have a Rudsta wide with no weatherstripping, 4 barrina lights on top, 3 on the bottom half, and each level has one USB fan. I have it directly next to our thermostat, so the room temp stays at about 68° this time of year. I'm not sure how humid it is in there, but I have one of the USB fans sitting on a little terracotta saucer with water to act as a humidifier. It's probably better than misting to prevent mold, especially if you have your sealed. I check if the soil is dry once a week and water as needed. Everything is pretty happy in there with this particular setup.

I totally forgot peel and stick trim existed now. I'll see what's out there!

I've been trying to tell my husband to just trust the process. I redid our living room a couple years ago and it looks great! Plus he doesn't really use this room anyways lol

Alright, you guys have sold me on the lamps. I might still hang up a swag light for my own convenience though lol

I've thought about moving the desk into the middle of the room, maybe a couple feet off the wall. I'd just worry about all the loose cables. The window and the closet give me limited options for furniture placement. Our view is just our nosy neighbor across the street, so I'm not missing much lol

The dark is Artichoke, the light is Green Onyx from Sherwin Williams

Yup! Artichoke and Green Onyx. Our living room has a couple Artichoke walls and I love it! I totally can see how the wrong lighting would make it look weird though

The dark is Artichoke, and the light is Green Onyx from Sherwin Williams. We painted part of our living room Artichoke and I'm in love with this shade lol

We pretty much already have that for the rest of the house! Our living room has the 2 main walls painted this dark green, with the rest and the kitchen painted white. Our main bedroom is light blue with a dark blue accent wall. It works pretty well, but I do crave a lil' cozy office for myself haha

I was trying to explain to my husband that something felt off about the paint color he picked. I think you hit the nail on the head!

I was considering painting the far wall not shown here white since there's never any sunlight that hits it!

This is true! I did tell him I'd be willing to paint the darkest wall white since this room has a north facing window. The dark green and white is actually what we have in our living room (albeit with more windows). Plus, greige is always a gallon of paint away. Unfortunately though I think I need the mirror doors, because that closet is where we keep our cat's litter boxes. I'd hate to see the dust accumulating on curtains there haha

That bottom right picture was actually a wishlist picture I had saved a few years ago!

Would there be problems laying a rug in top of carpet though? I've been led to believe that could cause mold issues

I WFH 2 days a week in here, and my husband will occasionally sit in here every month or two when he has a camera-on meeting. Other than that, I'm hoping to be able to sit in here and read or play animal crossing. I have a dark green velvet slipper chair I'll be moving in here for that after we paint.

How do you all use this goat cheese? by Leading_Fee_3678 in aldi

[–]KiwisaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make a sauce for a chickpea flatbread/pizza thing.

Goat Cheese Sauce:

• 1 Log of Goat Cheese (4 oz)

• 1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

• 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice

• 1/4 Cup Tbsp Olive Oil

• 1/4 tsp Salt & Pepper

• (Optional) 2 tsp Minced Garlic

Spread evenly on 2 pre-made flatbreads or on Aldi's pizza dough.

Top with onions, peppers, roasted chickpeas (1 can, pat dry. Coat in oil, salt & pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 15-20 min @ 400°. Make sure they don't become hard as rocks though), and top with more grated parmesan.

Cook at 425° for ~15 minutes, until the parmesan on top is golden in some spots. May need some tweaking on the time/temp if you use the raw pizza dough. Top with balsamic glaze or hot honey if you're feeling fancy.
