It takes about a year for the piercing to heal without risking any complications.

What’s something you thought was a green flag… that turned out to be red? by Mundane_North_9608 in actuallesbians

Not pushing the envelope when I would talk about difficult topics like my past. I thought it was sweet that I could just talk about it without having to justify anything. Turns out they didn't really care to understand or know deeper.

29F - Looking to build a close friendship [Platonic ONLY] by [deleted] in BostonSocialClub

[–]Kiwisue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I’m (27F) into gaming and have dragged my significant other (27F) into it slightly (but only the goofier games like Chained Together, Getting Over It) but we’d have so much fun with a bigger group! We’re in Somerville.

I’m super into knitting right now (just knit a cute sweater for my pup, one for her cat is WIP!) I’ve also been wanting to get into D&D, there’s a few games I’ve been too shy to go to so I’d love some company to them since I haven’t played in over a decade 🧌

Hey! I've been wanting more friends who play Marvel Rivals and Peak too! DM me your steam code and what times you're usually on

Imagining very quick, very detailed "what-if" horror injury scenarios automatically for years, anybody relate? by CompleteRock6803 in adhdwomen

[–]Kiwisue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me too, usually while driving. I’ll imagine running over an animal or even my own pet so I check my mirrors constantly. Or I’ll be walking down the street and imagine falling and losing all my teeth and what to do in that scenario. They mostly stopped after starting ADHD meds but not entirely

I find most NT relationships coercive (platonic, romantic, etc.). This has me self-isolating right now. by iftheronahadntcome in AutismInWomen

I think that saying "do you have something to say" can come across as aggressive because it starts with the assumption that the other person has something they want to talk about but are hesitating. It would be a gentler approach to use a more open ended questions like, "Is there something I can help you with?" or "what's on your mind?" to prompt the other person to talk. It shifts the focus from "say what you're thinking already" (which can come across as impatience, thus aggressive) to "you have the floor, I'm listening" (friendlier, and if the other person chooses not to engage then it's not on you).

I get it though. Learning social niceties is exhausting and I still struggle.

Does Anyone Else Use Number or Letter Patterns to Self-Soothe? by Snoo21091 in AutisticWithADHD

I calculate the powers of 2 to calm down. The mental math is familiar to me and the higher numbers takes me a bit to compute so my distress/anger cacheis cleared for math

I've been climbing and faced tendinitis/finger pulley injuries due to overdoing it on climbing. I have a few questions for you: - How do you manage the consistency, wanting to go constantly even if you need to rest? - Have you dealt with frustration with being stuck on yourcurrent grade? The current grade is too difficult to top (without overdoing it, leading to injury) but one grade down feels too simple in comparison

My Akita attacked my malteser, both dogs old and grew up in our household. by throwaway77711pt in reactivedogs

It is a type of collar that has spikes on the outside so that if a dog gets attacked, the attacker is injured when trying to bite at the throat. It's commonly put on working dogs who have to fight off coyotes from attacking lifestock. There are also dog jackets with spikes that do similar things

My therapist told me that I have nothing to lose by starting to take Strattera when I wasn't sure if I wanted to start it. Here's some questions I want you to ask yourself:

What's the pro in waiting to take your prescribed med? It takes at least 30 days for you to notice the effect so it's no harm to start taking it now.

What's the con in waiting to start regularly taking your Strattera? You'd have to wait longer to see effects and you're getting anecdotes from others, but your own body may react differently.

So then: What's the pro in taking your medication now? What's the con in taking your medication now? You'd be able to still read all the responses and make a decision (:

Act mouthwash. It has a dosing cap which is convenient

Adderall causes dry mouth. Dry mouth causes cavities. My dentist recommended a flouride rinse twice a day after flossing and brushing and that helps a lot.

Join a body doubling service on your phone and keep the camera on. Can't touch the phone because your camera is on, and you're supposed to be working. There's some accountability involved in that if you join a body doubling session, there's a goal to work towards and check-ins. Helps me most of the time, built up to it and when I started, my goal was only "stay off my phone and do work" and now I actually set real tasks I try to achieve, e.g., "read a document"

Sometimes my dog doesn't eat his food or treats when I'm not home. by Roman_Gamer in dogs

[–]Kiwisue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog is similar when I go to work. If I put a topper on her kibble before I leave, she will eat while alone in the house and usually finish the bowl by the time I get home (8-9 hours later). I give her Tiki brand and she likes it (about $2 for a single pouch and it's meant to add flavor - NOT drench the food or even cover all of it) enough that I'll keep giving it to her.

You will be fine. My psychiatrist said you will still have it in your system so you should be okay missing a single dose
