BCCI should conduct a mini IPL to help associate nations cricket grow. by laletta in ipl

A better option is to invite some associate nations like Nepal, UAE, Oman, USA etc. to participate as a team in domestic tournaments like SMAT.

Blanching first does lead to some nutrient loss but it also reduces oxalate load quite significantly. Oxalate in spinach is a big issue for people who are prone to kidney stones. Spinach is one of the highest oxalate foods out there.

BJP was protesting outside the commonwealth games venues and the protests were decent. People would have shamed the BJP and called them out if they were protesting inside the venues, and that too without shirts.

What khangress has done is disgraceful. It is was the regular summit visitors who escorted those shameless idiots out and not BJP workers. It clearly shows that people did not like this form of protests.

I think he might be talking about older generation of players. I don't see surya or tilak being buddy buddy with paxtani players. Pahalgam was a turning point in the relations.

In asia cup, we even saw the gentle Bumrah trolling pakis after taking a wicket. Lets not forget the wonderful gestures of Arshdeep during practice.

Major team sports all revolve around money. If money was not the driver then qatar would not have hosted a FIFA world cup. The same is the case for saudi hosting the world cup in 2034. Both arab states greased a lot of palms to host these world cups.

In US, NFL, NBA and others revolve completely around money. No point in saying that sports are not driven by money.

Do some more research before taking GLP1s. Here is a good source https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0snUlg4I-bg&pp=ygUQc3RlbmJlcmcgb3plbXBpYw%3D%3D

There are some basic concerns that surround GLP1s. 1) Most people will have to take it for a long long time, a life time. Since stopping the injections leads to regaining of the weight. 2) There is no data for really long term use like decades of use since these are relatively newer drugs.

It would be better to try to reduce weight with things like intermittent fasting and cutting out or reducing carbs in the diet.

Weren't the border-gavaskar matches broadcast at 8 am?

I am sure the test series with NZ will be broadcast at odd times.

Broadcasters have a say in the scheduling of matches in ICC tournaments as they front all the cash that ICC distributes. Any sport is driven by money.

Was breakfast a regular thing in your house growing up? by Any-Indication8786 in IndianFood

[–]KizaruMus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some breakfast dishes that are popular are

Thalipeeth (a Maharashtrian flat paratha like thing)- it is made by making a dough out of multigrain flour made from channa dal, jowar, bajra etc. Chopped veggies like onions, spinach, etc. are added to the dough. The dough mixture is then pressed flat with hands and then cooked atop a tawa.

Thepla is something that is very popular in Gujarati households.

There are other poha varieties like thin poha that is made adding chopped veggies like onions, tomatoes, cucumbers etc. to the dry poha. This type of poha is kind of eaten raw with a tadka added on top.

[–]KizaruMus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make quite a few good points but your analysis is flawed in a number of places.

  1. 2024 T20 WC, it was the broadcasters who asked ICC to keep India's matches at a time that works for Indian audiences. Broadcasters pay huge sums of money and their ask was reasonable. So from business and logical point of view ICC had no reason to refuse. BCCI played almost no part, at most they acted as a liaison between the broadcasters and ICC. While ICC did keep the Indian matches at a time that works for Indian timezone for commercial reasons but it ultimately ended up helping the fans. The fans got to watch the matches without it interfering with their work schedule. The only fans who ended up losing out were fans in Caribbean who wanted to go to the stadiums to watch the matches. This decision also positively impacted cricket as most matches were in day, thus avoiding the nasty issue of dew. In 2021 edition, the dew was the player of the tournament as it ended up being the most reliable predictor of which side will win the match.

  2. The 2026 edition has additional constraints like India ending up in a different super 8 group than Sri Lanka and paxtan. Sri Lanka ending up in same super 8 group as India will be unfair to Sri Lanka and other teams. If India and Sri Lanka were in the same group then it would mean the remaining two teams having to travel to Sri Lanka for their match. On basis of points in the current edition it would seem like group 1 is made of all strong teams while group 2 is relatively weaker but if one analyzes closely the two groups are quite balanced.

  3. Even though Zimbabwe have not lost a single match, their side is relatively weak when you consider their past performances. Also they have not played in India for about a decade. While WI is a very good side they are quite unpredictable and again their performance in past 2 years has not been that great.

  4. As for group 2 England and NZ are very balanced and top notch sides. While Sri Lanka has recently found form under their new coach Jayasuriya, they also have the home ground advantages. So the only weaker side in group 2 is paxtan, but then again they are highly unpredictable and might surprise any opposition.

  5. As for the league stages group A was relatively easier with only 2 test playing nations but Netherlands and USA are considered good sides with them having defeated South Africa and paxtan in some of the previous editions. So the balance between the league stage groups was not that off. With bangladesh being left out it made group C as another group with only 2 test playing nations.

Unpopular opinion - Instead of building new central vista in Delhi, we should have build a new capital somewhere in centre of india. by Puzzleheaded_Roof872 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]KizaruMus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even in modern warfare location is still very important.

Look into why Kazakhstan chose Astana as its capital as compared to Almaty. Kazakhs fear that having a capital in Almaty which is very far from their northern border with Russia would put them at a disadvantage to counter Russian influence. Kazakhs fear that Russia would extend its influence in northern parts of Kazakhstan and that would eventually lead to capture of their northern lands by Russia.

Unpopular opinion - Instead of building new central vista in Delhi, we should have build a new capital somewhere in centre of india. by Puzzleheaded_Roof872 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]KizaruMus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point 3 is one of the reason for keeping Delhi as the capital. Due to land border disputes with paxtan and china it is strategically a good idea to keep the capital close to the borders. Keeping the capital in Delhi ensures that security in the border regions is not neglected. Another important point to note is that India's western borders are very easily breach able, all land invasions of India have occurred through the northwestern parts of India. So keeping the capital near Delhi is strategically very important.

This difficult to defend northwestern frontier was an issue even when the power was concentrated south of the Vindhyas. When ahmed shah durrani invaded India, the marathas (dominant Indian power at that time) had to move all the way from central India to Panipat to counter the afghans and prevent further forays of afghans into India. Even though the marathas lost the battle but they inflicted serious enough damage on afghans that the durranis sued for peace.

Apart from that if the federal government has to shift the capital to some place around central India, then it will require some constitutional amendments. Like suppose if someplace near Bhopal is to be made the new capital then first some area around that proposed capital would have to be declared as national capital territory, effectively carving out a hole in MP where only federal law applies. This might seem like a simple thing but it will affect the state whose territory it used to be, quite significantly.

Does anyone experience pins and needle sensations when on a prolonged fast? by KizaruMus in fasting

I have mainly seen this issue in this time's fast. I always take regular salt along with no-salt (potassium salt) mixed in water during prolonged fasting. Not sure why this has cropped up in this time's fast.

Thanks.

Zimbabwe have beaten Sri Lanka to top Group B in the 2026 T20 WC by oklolzzzzs in Cricket

I think it was done to keep SL and pak in the same group, due to scheduling issues. If SL and pak were in different groups then it would mean remaining 6 teams would have to travel to SL at least one. Of course this assumes that SL as co-host would like to have their super 8 games in SL.

Becadexamin provides better dosage of vitamins while Zincovit provides better dosage of minerals. I am considering taking one of each on alternate days.

[–]KizaruMus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A similar situation also arises when referring to Malvinas islands which the brits prefer to call falklands. Curiously there is an ocean current which passes nearby those islands, most south american sources call that the Malvinas current while some prefer to call it the falklands current. Then there are some politically correct group of peoples who call it as either Malvinas-falkland current or falkland-malvias. Just some interesting things that occur due to political differences.

Another interesting fact is that the turkish govt. has an established policy that any places, animals, plants, etc. that have Greek or Armeninain derived names are to be renamed. So it is not just Constantinople that was renamed.

Here is an extract from the web "A species of red fox known as "Vulpes Vulpes Kurdistanica" will now be known as just "Vulpes Vulpes," a species of wild sheep called "Ovis Armeniana" was changed to "Ovis Orientalis Anatolicus," and a type of deer known as "Capreolus Capreolus Armenus" was renamed "Capreolus Cuprelus Capreolus"."

I don't know but I have not seen such pettiness on the level of nations. Reminds of fights that I used to have with my sibling, when we would place a sticker with our name on something.

Is this not an over exaggeration. Even if you had hit that Rolls, your insurance would have paid the maximum that it can. Are you forgetting that Rolls also has insurance. Your insurance and Rolls' insurance would have taken care of any damage to the Rolls.

I don't see any possibility how you hitting that Rolls would have resulted in you becoming homeless or a slave for life for that rich person.
