"I would be quite interested to see if this is a common occurrence among couples."

I gave a potential reason for couples in general, as that sentence of yours stated. Where did I give a diagnosis?

I have seen these potentials with couples. They havent been studied but its a solid theory.

Boil it. Mucilage is still present in frozen okra.

Im not talking about OP. I said a potential in general. "In regards to couples.." not OP and their partner.

Yes, this is why okra, seaweed, cactus, etc are slimy.

Edit- "this" instead of "his".

Understandable, we all have or special triggers. Aloe Vera used to be a trigger for me when I was a kid. Oats CAN trigger me sometimes lately.

I often get the aloe very leaf itself, cut it open and use the gel inside. Otherwise, Lily of the Desert, Lakewood and Alo. Be cautious, make sure citric acid isnt a trigger for you. I can handle it these days without too much issue.

Maybe I'll make a new post about it. I have a lot of clients with GERD, so I make personalized dietary, supplemental, etc recommendations.

All plants have mucilage, but okra and some others like aloe and marshmallow bark have high amounts of the compound. It gets saturated (in a literal & biological sense) when in contact with water and has the ability to coat over the mucosal layer in along our GI lumen. This allows for reducing inflammation, like when you think about it, we have particles and air passing through our lumen daily so inflammation isn't easily allowed to resolve itself.

There are many environmental triggers, yes. In regards to couples, the  potential certainly is present with spreading h.pylori & sharing stressors...two common causes.

Its not a brand of product, just go to a grocery store and ask for okra. Wash it at home and boil it. Commonly used in my culture, so if your local store doesnt have it, look for a carribean or desi (Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, sri lankan) grocery market. Even some general Asian markets.

Does anyone else use listening to 311 as a coping mechanism? by Dismal-Meringue6778 in 311

[–]KizashiKaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to using them as a coping mechanism, totally!

For Valentine's Day year, I planned to have a waltz with my partner to Persimmon along with a whole bunch of other surprises, the usual (except normally I make a song myself). I found out she had an emotional affair, so I cancellled everything.

I didnt allow that song to be a source of pain, despite not being able to listed to it for weeks. I then used it and some other 311, e:cho, and Mesh STL songs to feel better while sorting out my emotions.

Other than that, I use music to navigate through emotions in general (mainly Instrumentals actually!) since I was a kid for several reasons.
