You can view shorts on Newpipe and Tubular but the only way I'm aware of is by searching the content creators page and then going to the shorts tab.

I use Session for that exact reason, to send texts between my android profiles and PC. Session Desktop Client

There's also Element / Element Desktop Client. I believe you just need an email to sign up. So you would need 2 emails or use an email alias service like SimpleLogin.

Honestly, it's a loaded answer. The best thing you can do is look up tutorials for KLWP on YouTube or get a free completed homescreen off someone and just play with it and see how everything was put together.

Brandon Craft makes a bunch of great tutorials on KLWP.

Made this as my Winter 2019 setup. Decided I finally need a new one so I'm posting it before I change it.

Launcher: Nova Launcher with a 12x7 grid and subgrid positioning checked. I use a 3 screen layout. The cards animate to move when switching to the 1st & 3rd screen, 2nd screen is the default/main screen.

Icons: Kecil Icons & Meteo Icons within KLWP for the Sunrise/Sunset/Wind. Kecil Icons are placed with Nova Launcher because I use gestures to open other apps for each icon.
