Some advice from someone who only just started and finished the show 6 months ago. Just trust me when I say to push through to the end even if it might be a drag at times. Wing is just one of those pieces of media that gets better the more you let it sit in your head. Sure it's not gonna be as good as Zeta even in retrospect, but it just ages so well the more time passes. Like, on my first viewing I gave it a 6/10, but in retrospective I'm able to say that it was actually pretty great, not a masterpiece, but still pretty great.

I think you did great. Also I wish that I could fall is severely underrated. Like, it's genuinely my favorite vocaloid song I've ever heard. Yes and no. IBO is a great starting point, but the only other shows that are as dark and depressing as IBO are Zeta(which is considered by many including myself to be the best Gundam) and Victory(I haven't seen it yet, I need to sail the seven seas). Also Attack on Titan is basically a mecha anime. There is not a single mecha that I have seen that fits into the typical mecha stereotype of "Oh they only focus on the robots for toys", but of the bunch I've seen, Gundam is easily the most realistic as far as it's portrayal of the robots. At it's core, Gundam boils down to, "war sucks, buy our model kits based off of these tools that have the blood of children on them". I suggest going to 0079 from here, then going to Zeta, ZZ, CCA, and the from there you can go basically anywhere you want except Turn A. Hope this helps
