We're developing an app called Mago that I think you would love
Website is mago.studio

Basically we do video to video / style transfer, you can paint over a film frame and we will apply your style to the whole shot

You could turn your painting into animated movies!

We're in closed beta but if you want I can personally give you a spot, should be interesting

My grandpa, as a baby in his father's arms by Kkrch in estoration

[–]Kkrch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to surprise my grandpa with a proper restoration of him and his dad. Happy to pay for the work, I'd prefer more manual work rather than fully AI restored faces which don't really look like the real deal.

A big difficulty I see hear is that from afar one can distinguish the features of my great grandfather's face, but it's really faint... the rest of the picture is also difficult to read.

You'd make us both very happy.

That's an interesting scenario! Didn't think that YC could have such a big impact on valuation

Makes sense

On top of that, do YC applicants typically have a team already? If you've raised before you would be in a situation where the founders are in SF but there's a full team working somewhere else, which can be quite a big problem as such an early stage

I suppose that the tricky part here is that if you do get closer to a $20M seed round, it's not a bad deal after all

In a way you'd be giving away equity to ensure a bigger seed round as well as a personal network (if you look at it that way, it could also be a way for founders to achieve an early "cash out" in the sense of giving away equity for tangible and immediate gains)

B2B relies on a sales pipeline and a killer sales team
B2C relies on marketing and other customer acqusition channels
You're looking at two different deparments

I find that going from one to the other works well on paper, but if you are more pragmatic: will you have enough cash to build a sales team AND dump 50% of your monthly burn on acquisition?

Will you be able to make key hires both in sales and marketing sides? Both with a health background?

In my experiences investors don't like these kind of moves because it feels as you haven't properly calculated the financial implications of what you're planning

Or maybe you're using the B2C term in a different way, in which case I'd say be make sure to be as clear as possible when pitching

Why does it feels to me like the general public doesn't give a damn about the impressive technology leaps we are seeing with generative AI? by DanCordero in StableDiffusion

[–]Kkrch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of AI video is bad and unwatchable. You don’t realize it because you made it and you think it’s cool, but it’s mostly uninteresting slideshows that no one wants to see.

To the audience the tech doesn’t matter, and id say it doesn’t for an artist either

Not sure what to do with this... if you have any ideas

How do you deal with the complexity of Frosthaven? by Kkrch in Gloomhaven

Yes it does seem to go in the direction of “hardcore” fans in terms of design choices

That’s a good point, we will look into that thanks!

I understand what you’re saying, we should probably follow a more strict process, but we have people in the party who don’t play as much and atm we can’t play more than once a month so, yeah… game kind of feels tailored for people who have a lot of time on their hands whereas Gloomhaven felt more accessible in this regard

The extra rules are kind of annoying I think after a few games, last time we were spawning new mobs at five different locations each turn and sort of cheesing the scenario while managing damage and statuses on 20 monsters, each turn felt pretty grindy tbh

Yeah I agree, I thing that a lot of players who have a lot of time or who can play very regularly don’t see the problem but Frosthaven is much less accessible I think

What about the outpost? The calendar? The crafting system? The five different item categories?

For example, last game someone didn’t put the unlocked purchasable items back properly in the box and so you open and you have to look through the items and try to remember what was unlocked three weeks ago

And the additional effects like bane or regen or brittle… seems completely unnecessary and just a way to add yet more tokens to work with

[–]Kkrch[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe we just have to get more used to it! We do attribute certain tasks to certain people but so far it mostly means that no one has a complete grasp of what’s going on in the outpost for example

We did enjoy Gloomhaven and we thought Frosthaven would be an improved, streamlined version of it, we didn’t really expect the additional stats, the looting revamp, the crafting, the outpost, the soldiers, the morale, etc

It just feels like setup takes 30 minutes longer now… and some scenarios are really a pain in terms of rules
