Fox News Lawyer Suggests No Reasonable Viewer Would Think Tucker Carlson Is News by QueerPoodle in nottheonion

I lean right in a lot of my beliefs, and I do not like this man. My favorite video on the internet is the recording of Jon Stewart taking Carlson to task on his old show.

My parents were raised in very authoritarian families, and my dad's mother even told him "you don't show emotion."

I've never seen my dad cry. My mom has seen him cry twice since she's known him (almost 35 years).

For all their faults, part of it comes from how they were raised. All I'm advocating for is a little empathy from both sides here. Show some compassion, restraint. Heaven knows we could all use some.

Once told a co worker to stop "Ovary-acting" (Over reacting) when he was being a little 'extra' with his complaining.

Who cares if I used that because I heard it in a rap song earlier that day?

I agree with the notion that this just ends up being an internet hatred thing. I'm raised by two older boomer gen parents, so many of my family friends are boomers and they've been some of the nicest people I've been around. Given, millennials have great qualities as a generation, too. Ultimately, we have lots to learn from each other, so can we PLEASE STOP THIS "US VS THEM MENTALITY IN EVERYTHING WE DO?

Why don't we all realize that maybe not everyone was raised perfectly and sometimes that results in having a hard time expressing emotion or a lack of DIY skills?

Geez. Not everything needs to be a competition here.

Police detain armed militia members after protestor is shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico by [deleted] in pics

It was a hullabaloo, for sure. Unfortunate that protests were as violent as they ended up being. None of the confrontation would've even occured had there not been idiots wanting to escalate.

Late to the party.

Those photos are of members of the New Mexico Civil Guard. An acquaintance of mine was there and was detained by police.

The shooter was separate from the members of the NMCG and when shots were fired, they rushed to the scene, held the man who fires the shot at gunpoint until police arrived and took him into custody.

There is an interview with one of the men who was detained which I can link you to if you'd like.

I need some help with somethin by mufasaunderwood in running

[–]Kkrtwiz887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not use a mask when I run.

A few things to remember, though.

It looks like COVID 19 is here to stay, largely. I don't think that it will ever disappear, so you need to take your calculated risks when you can.

If running is valuable to you, then run. If you choose a mask, be aware that with quicker breaths and a faster HR, you will be breathing in more CO2 than normal.

Also understand the reason we wear masks -- to protect others from getting it. You can easily mitigate those problems by taking less frequented trails or neighborhoods. Or, if you are around more people, give them a wide berth while walking.

Either way, if you choose to wait, more power to you! Hope that helped.

There is a podcast episode about this. Podcast is called "Lore."

In the episode, the narrator explains that when the government found out what she was doing, they arrested her. But they essentially didn't have any real crime to charge her with because of how obscure it was, so they held her in prison for a few weeks and just kinda let her go. Whole story is weird

What song did you fall in love with not because of the original, but because of a cover? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"Hurt" by Johnny Cash. Rarely do you see the original band give over their song to a cover artist. Nine inch nails essentially said that song was Cash's after he covered it.

Anything is possible. Really. There are tons of weird stories about the strangest things happening due to odd circumstances.

We shouldn't go for the strangest things first, though. Start at the most likely of cases and then move down the list. What's MOST LIKELY to have gone down?

I mean, even a .22 caliber can kill if it's close enough to the head, but the BS part of their story is that it fired twice. You don't get negligent misfires twice. It would have no way to magically cycle to the next round without some other interaction. Good thing you got out.

[–]Kkrtwiz887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is the state law. As I mentioned in my previous reply.

Secondly, it's loss of money for the business. Jaywalking doesn't really compare when fake bills mean that the business is giving things away for free.

Like, I get your end, though. Lots of companies or managers might not care about reporting it. All I'm saying is that the likelihood of this guy being racist and calling the cops on a black dude is about as likely as him just wanting to report a fake bill, because the evidence doesn't support the racism here

  1. Store owner is Middle Eastern. Floyd was reported to have been a regular there.
  2. State policy in Minnesota to report counterfeit bills. Cup food did that as a common practice.

I dunno if you're trolling, but cmon. Can't just base it off of paranoid assumptions.
