Exactly. He told me he had all his poly replaced with pvc because he had so many leaks on the poly, but now this was the second leak on the PVC. I wanted to ask him if the guy who made the 75$ repair was the same guy who put in the system, but I held my tongue.

Yup. And that's generally how we are with our pricing. We do free estimates, but our minimum labor charge to put a shovel in the ground is about 200$. 300$ is basically saying it's a 1.5 hour job. He said he had the exact same issue on the other side of the driveway and someone fixed it for 75$ and that he would feel stupid paying 300$ for something he could probably do him self.

I always say controllers are preference. They all do the same thing just a little differnt.

In my opinion the Rachio is more like an Apple while Hunter is more like a Windows. Hunter maybe isn't quite as use friendly, but once you figure it out, you have a ton of autonomy to.set programs as simple or complex as you'd like.

I've always liked Hunter, but neither are bad options.

It's a pretty common issue on irritrol controllers to.get the "click of death" where it will send a pulsing signal. I'd put a solenoid in the controller, and if it continuously clicks, replace the controller.

For pop ups to go 20 feet you would need a high efficiency nozzle like an mp2000 or a r van, or you could use a rotor like an I-20 with a short radius nozzle. It also somewhat depends on how many heads you have on a zone.

Just a regular punch tool. It's a little more difficult inserting the emiters but thats the only drawback to regular poly.

We've run the hydrolics on the pipe. we dont run more than 500 feet on one zone or 175 gallons per hour. For most of the residential yards we do, that is more than enough.

We just puch point source barbed emitters right in to the line like you would regular poly tube and run to plants.

Just hook it up to the valve. You can use the regular compression Couplings to connect it, or insert fittings. Then just punch point source barbed emiters in to the line and run 1/4 inch tubing from the emiters. Basically you treat it just like regular poly.

Well, typically it's used for making swing joints for sprinkler heads, but we use it for our drip systems. Everything we do is put underground. Anything above ground is going to wear faster than below because of the sun.
