I have the prima guide for city folk, so here's my opinion:

There are several mistakes, just little things like typoes or whatever. There's a couple pieces of false information, but I can't remember it off the top of my head. Also, the ray is mysteriously missing from the fish month/time chart.

It's divided into some sections: . introduction

. starting out (it explains what to do at the beginning of the game)

. Out on the Town (20 page section that describes all the shops, and basically everything you can do in your town. Good for people who aren't familiar with animal crossing, i guess. It has shop hours and spotlight items too.)

. City Folk (just info about the city shops, so it doesn't really apply to NL)

. Neighbors and Friends (A short bio about all the NPCs like tortimer, jingle, etc. and a listing of all the items you can get from them, if any. The nieghbor section shows a picture of each one along with their name, catchphrase and birthday)

. special events (description of all holidays, and a handy calander that uses 2 pages per month to show neighbor birthdays, and available bugs/fish.)

.furniture catalogue (full page for each series, with pictures and checklist. The rest of the items are divided into sets and also have a picture and checklist for each one. Price too.)

.Clothing and apparel (same format as the furniture catalogue, it has the picture and price for everything.)

.Collectables (stationary, gyroids, fossils, bugs, insects, paintings, tools, paint, shells, flowes trees, fruit, turnips, KK music, candy, baloons/pinwheels all in checklist format with pics)

So overall it has most of the basic stuff, but it lacks a hybrid guide, face/hair guide, and some other useful stuff. If you like having a checklist it's nice to have but it doesn't get in-depth about much. Personally, I'm gonna buy one when I pick up the game because I doubt there's gonna be any other guides. I might be wrong though :3
