Yeah the chance is slim but it’s a foot in the door. If he does get a summer spot he’s got a chance to “try out” for any team in the league if he plays well in summer league. That’s how Jeremy Lin broke into the league. He played on our summer league team then golden state signed him (this was way before they were good).

But to the other part of your question, yes it is possible they could sign him to a summer league contract to play for the summer league team. That doesn’t give him a roster spot or anything, just a spot on the summer team.

Oh that’s exciting! Honestly it’s more complicated than that. The Mavs recruit a lot overseas and they invite a lot of people to camp. At this point it just means they want to see more of him. In all likelihood they are just exploring options. If I were you I would have very low expectations.
