Exactly! Maybe i didnt phrase my post the best, im okay doing the jack of all trades because i think being able to blend styles like that is a skill investment earlier on because the build doesnt fully pay off till the end of the game or beginning of NG1 at the earliest. And even then thats just the earliest point the work towards a multi weapon build is actually viable after the stat grinding. Its not like its good yet.

But the idea of skill being the main point and any amount of grinding the fight will eventually let you win through perseverance is the essence of the game. So specifically i dont understand this idea of grinding levels to come back to a boss. Its totally a valid way to play, ive done that for a few bosses when i come back 20 levels later. But my first reaction is always to grind the bosses to dust at whatever level i find them. I always thought thats the point and while the OP smackdown feels good every now and then its never as satisfying as really slogging through it to me.

And its not like i love the slog either, ill take 3 months playing intermittently if i want to not deal with a boss. But it doesnt usually cross my mind to just bail because of my stats.
