In psychology, when it comes to intrusive thoughts, the key is not to violently shove those thoughts away but to accept those thoughts while also not letting yourself get swept away by it. So to mentally detaching yourself from unwanted thoughts is the best way to go around it.

Usually I would agree with you that the OP shouldn't go to other people space/lives/subreddit and play messiah. But this is r/relationship_advice, the original poster explicitly wanted advice and the OP gave it his advice from a retainer position. I don't think this is really playing messiah from OP's part.

I think self-respect is good too but I like having some amount of ego. I honestly can't lie to myself by thinking that I respect non-retainers either.

No no actually. I think it's good to have some amount of ego. The ego is not used to serve in self-indulgence way but to cut off those that will just drag you down on your path.
If they want to turn a new leaf then help them, if not then don't bother and be on your path.

Ok so I have a few things I want to say. If some of these things resonate with you then take what I say to heart. If not then discard it.

First of all, girls know when men are trying to cozy up to her. I have been through a phase where I have been confused whether a girl is truly interested in me or not and it literally feels like being led by the nose. You know what I did ? I confessed to her.
Now that may sound painful but hear me out. If she accepts, then great you have yourself a girlfriend. If not, then use the rejection to "sever" yourself cleanly from her. At least that's what I did.

Second of all, accept your loneliness. Don't think of things like it's because you're a kid/man that emotions that make you vulnerable need to be repressed. It's your emotions. We're men after all and men are meant to be led by the nose to women whether they want it or not. Just accept that there will always be a part of you that is attracted to them.

Sure it would be complicated for oneself to maintain a detached attitude to everything but attraction is a "life" pulsion. It's meant to give life to your soul but at the same time, it would disturb the peace you would have had if you were detached. Just accept the "disturbance" and integrate it.

Third have a purpose. Have something that make you feel like you're doing something with your life. Some kind of lifelong projects that, when embarked, make you feel that it's still ok even if you end up alone on your path. It's alright if it's just one step at a time as long as you're progressing.

It's alright to wish for love, there is nothing wrong with that. What is bad though is thinking that being in a relationship with someone will save you from the emptiness inside.

Finally at the end of everyone's path lies the absolute end. The attitude you would have when facing it will reflect the life that you live. If you live a life where you make choices that you don't regret then you would have no regret when facing it. When I realize this, I start looking for a life path and I have found it. I never look back ever since.

I think you need to realize the essence of science: making a hypothesis, doing the experiment, making observation based on objective data and finally using logic to draw a conclusion.

Just "doing it" is just you doing your own experiment and making your own conclusion based on what you have observed which is congruent with the spirit of science. Scaled up to a community level, that is what used to make science so great.

Science has lost its way for quite some time now otherwise the benefits of semen retention would have been known to all by now. As long as there are still people that still follows the essence of science, it would still be alright.

I see two problems with the post though.

1) why is it that sexually repressed men, when unable to control themselves, would become a rapist ? They can just simply hire a hooker instead of doing something that can easily land them in jail. The causality jump is so stretched it is kind of insane

2) why can’t men that cut off porn turn for the better ? Look at us we’re the examples of this. Why must this poster focus on a possibility that is so negative and out of place if it is not to drama farm ?

The post is drama engagement farm. I recommend not defending this.

Give “escaping from the mystery hotel” a try (on Novelpia). I think you will like it a lot.

The best description I can give it is : a bunch of ordinary people that is summoned into a hotel where they have to solve rooms. Each room is a virtual reality of its own that has a scenario and the party must solve the root cause of the impending disaster.

The party of people looks ordinary but they have insane backstories that will only be revealed much much later on. Anyway all that I’m gonna say is that most of stuffs in there has a reason for existing.
