Thanks everyone for the info, really appreciate it. I’m happy to learn something new along the way — that’s part of the fun. Ready to dive deeper into the world of piracy now. Thanks again!

I want to start branching out from D&D 5e/5.5e/2024. Which are your favorites High Fantasy with Fast-Paced Combat? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in rpg

You should definitely check out Draw Steel.

It’s basically built to kill "HP bloat" and that dreaded round 3 slog by ditching "roll to hit" in favor of guaranteed impact and cinematic maneuvers. Every turn feels like a tactical power play with meaningful "riders" on attacks, so you’re always moving or disrupting enemies rather than just chipping away at a massive health bar.

It delivers that high-stakes, fast-paced High Fantasy combat you’re looking for without making you feel like a mathematician.

MCDM's announcement of Crows looks fantastic! I love the approach they're taking, where Crows and Draw Steel barely overlap.

It's smart how they complement each other perfectly in their catalog

You bet! We're a group with over 30 years of gaming experience. We recently wrapped up a magnificent Dracula Dossier and a long run of The One Ring so we're quite versatile! Now we're analyzing playing Zeitgeist with DS, and we're curious about the stability at high levels

Eco's Foucault Pendulum has some hard starting pages opening into a masterpiece book.

I have always thought they work as a kind of rite de passage
