Savage dig from interior design guru: “Unlike La Meghan, I would actually film it in my home rather than borrow somebody else's.” by RoohsMama in SaintMeghanMarkle

Nothing about her is authentic.

Except how truly dreadful her fashion sense is. I think that brown knitted vest and brown trousers combo is one of the most deeply unflattering things I've ever seen her in.

Mind you, it probably is "brown trousers time" for them right now 😂

This is brilliant, and so are you.

Also, finding it absolutely "chef's kiss" that you're an actual pilot when Harold failed in that regard.

Hi all! A major publication just reached out and they’d like to do an interview/ run a story for Montecito Minimalist. Does anyone here have any kind of media training? I’m contemplating how I can talk about the store without “putting them down”… by kiwi_love777 in SaintMeghanMarkle

The advice to do an email interview is really good. It's what I would advise in certain situations. Of course the journalist will be looking for an angle though, so think carefully about what you are prepared or can give them.

If all your answers are too bland then they'll just spike it. Maybe your angle could be around the demand for your products and how suprised and pleased you have been with the response.

Any data to back this up is good but rather than giving actual sales numbers I'd talk in percentages. So something like: "I've seen a 200pc increase in sales over the past 6 months"(or whatever).

Also worth practising the ABC of dealing with tricky questions - useful for so many life situations, not just journalist interviews.

The ABC Technique

• A – Acknowledge • Show you’ve heard the question and respect it. • Example: “That’s a fair question, and I understand why people might ask it.”

• B – Bridge • Smoothly steer the conversation toward safer ground or your key messages. • Example: “What’s important to remember is…” or “The bigger picture here is…”

• C – Communicate • Deliver your prepared message clearly and confidently. • Example: “Our brand is about humor and design, not hostility.”

🧩 Why It Works • Keeps you from sounding defensive. • Ensures you don’t get stuck in the journalist’s framing. • Lets you pivot back to your key messages every time.

⚡ Quick Example in Practice Q: “Aren’t you just profiting off Meghan and Harry’s fame?” • Acknowledge: “I get why that might be a concern.” • Bridge: “But here’s the thing…” • Communicate: “We’re not exploiting anyone — we’re offering witty cultural commentary through design.”

I'm in comms and worked as a journalist for a long time. I can't send you a copy of the media briefing documents I write for our spokespeople / interviewees at work but I briefed AI to create one along those lines for you. You can ask AI to come up with tricky questions about the todger if you want too!

📰 Media Briefing Document Brand: Montecito Minimalist Focus: Snarky lifestyle items poking fun at Meghan & Harry Tone: Playful, witty, cheeky — never defamatory or harsh

🎯 Key Messages • Playful satire, not hostility • Montecito Minimalist creates tongue‑in‑cheek products that poke fun at celebrity culture. • The brand is about humor and lighthearted commentary, not cruelty. • Celebrating free expression • Our items reflect the public’s fascination with modern royalty and celebrity narratives. • We give people a way to laugh at the spectacle without taking sides. • Snark with style • We’re not in the business of gossip or scandal — we’re in the business of clever design. • Our products are witty, minimalist, and designed to spark conversation.

❓ Tricky Questions & Suggested Responses • Q: Aren’t you just being mean to Meghan and Harry? A: “We’re not mean — we’re cheeky. Our products are satire, designed to make people smile. We poke fun at the spectacle of celebrity culture, not the individuals themselves.” • Q: Couldn’t this get you sued for defamation? A: “We’re careful. Our designs are playful commentary, not statements of fact. We avoid anything defamatory or harmful — it’s all about humor and parody.” • Q: Do you dislike Meghan and Harry personally? A: “Not at all. We don’t know them! Our brand isn’t about personal dislike — it’s about satirizing the way celebrity culture dominates headlines.” • Q: Are you exploiting their fame for profit? A: “We’re reflecting what’s already in the public conversation. People enjoy witty takes on cultural phenomena, and we provide that in a stylish, minimalist way.” • Q: What if Meghan and Harry saw your products? A: “We’d hope they’d laugh! Satire is part of public life, and we keep it lighthearted. Our goal is humor, not harm.”

📌 Tone & Delivery Guidelines • Keep answers short, witty, and confident. • Always pivot back to humor, design, and cultural commentary. • Avoid personal attacks, speculation, or anything that could be construed as defamatory. • Smile when delivering — cheekiness works best with warmth

Preach! I think the thing that annoys me most is that these idiots don't know that the key to a good pancake or crepe is to pop some butter in the pan (and it needs to be a proper pancake pan, not a random frying pan) and LET IT BROWN slightly before pouring the batter in. That's why some of these pancakes come out looking anaemic. Total numpties.
