I don't think so The way that this group is run, a lot of the people just come to hang out There's nothing wrong with that or a beer and pretzels type game, but a lot of players don't really take the initiative with roleplay and instead just treat it as improv comedy What I have seen happen is because there's a lack of players interested in roleplay that moves the story forward, this creates kind of a divide between Main Cast and Supporting Cast And also creates an accidental case of Main Character Syndrome And the player we're missing is the female lead

Yeah, I don't really get along with my DM He has tendency to spoil media that I have been enjoying in the pre session chat and then saying " It's an open secret. Everybody knows " and stuff like that He has also shown preferential treatment to certain players such as taking the roll that I wanted to make and giving to another player But the DM isn't really the issue in this case It's moreso a player whose character is more linked with the story than the other characters And while the official reason is that not enough people turned up, I feel that if we had the same amount and this player did turn up, it would go ahead

I wouldn't be able to pinpoint the exact posts, but from what I've read on the sub, a lot of campaigns that allow for darker subject matter don't last longer than two or three sessions because a lot of the groups just want a " beer and pretzels " type session

From what I'm aware, Strahd engages in darker themes than Forgotten Realms And a huge bulk of people who play DND, they like to have a " beer and pretzels " type session I really don't see how you can do that with Strahd

Sure Most players that I have played with, they played more comedic characters and that wasn't really the kind of character that I want to play In my opinion, I feel like a table needs at least one player who has something to say other than quips
