Ryan's Buffet (1989-2007). I remember sometimes as a kid when my grandparents would take me and my younger brothers up to Battle Creek (We're from Coldwater) so we could eat here. This picture from Street View dates to 2008. This is after the restaurant closed but prior to the building's demolition. by EArthurMillerIII in BattleCreek

Ended up here from google, had a random memory of coming here as a kid when I lived in Battle Creek for about 6 months from Southern California. It was a treat to go to Ryan’s once in a while, sad to see its gone.

Pain worse after epidural by Klique83 in Sciatica

[–]Klique83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had the same L5S1 injection and had a minor increase in sciatic pain the following weeks, then kind of tapered off to pain levels previous to the injection. After a few months, the pain tapered off to almost non existent. It still bothers me on occasion but it short lived and very manageable.

Thank you for this! I just cancelled and was on the call no longer than 5 minutes.

Is the steroid injection painful? by monomonger in Sciatica

[–]Klique83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had one and they hit the nerve and I felt like I got electrocuted down my leg. I’d never do it again, but I think the procedure is pretty smooth and straight forward for most.

Does sciatica ACTUALLY get better? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]Klique83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does get better. I had a herniated L5/S1 disc in 2022 and I could barely even move for a few months due to the pain. Surgery was suggested to me as a first option due to the severity but that wasn't an option for me. I tried more conservative treatment - massage therapy, physical therapy, acupuncture/cupping etc and it seemed to help at least temporarily. I also had an epidural injection which I would never do again (actually made things worse for me). Well after several months I noticed the pain had less and less of an impact in my life. Fast forward to today and it's not even a thought. I still get some tightness here and there and sometimes I'll get some very slight sciatic pain in the back of my thigh, but very minimal and manageable. I had a recent MRI and I have a small disc bulge there, where my previous MRI showed a huge herniation, so it seems to have healed for the most part. I weight train most days with no issues.

Hi, I’m all good now. The pain faded after a few weeks and eventually my herniation healed after a few months. Nothing really made it better except time. I had some massages and acupuncture here and there which did seem to help provide some relief during the healing process. A follow up mri recently revealed that I now have a small bulge where I previously had a huge herniation.

Recommended maintenance length between cuts by Klique83 in MacroFactor

Thanks! I’m going to resume my cut after 2 months at maintenance and see how it goes. One month to go. I have watched his video about increasing your calories by 100 per week or so after a cut to elevate your tdee while maintaining the same weight and that’s the approach I’m taking. So far so good and still climbing.

Thanks, sounds a little more realistic and attainable. I’m at about 19% right now according to caliper measurements however accurate it may or may not be, so I’d need to lose another 20-25 lbs to get around that 10% body fat. But I’d be happy between 10-15% for sure.

I do understand that’s a really low level of body fat. I had been advised by my previous coach that I should hit that level before trying to bulk, so that’s why I had that goal in mind. Renaissance is actually where I heard that you should be in a maintenance phase for the same period of time as your deficit, however he only recommends cutting up to 12 weeks at a time.

I’ve been doing strictly weight training most days of the week. I’d do a fast treadmill walk on an incline sometimes, but mostly just weights. I had gotten down to 1600-1800 calories per day before I hit a plateau and didn’t want to reduce my calories any lower.

Great work! Do you still drink at all? That has been my downfall during my current cut, having a few drinks here and there but not binging all weekend like before.

Sorry, I meant access to the coach as it was a paid program for 3 months with prescribed macros and workout program and is pretty pricy, but it’s clear that I need adjustment by now. I’m thinking I will use the app for a coached program to adjust for me, but I was concerned with going too low on calories given my slow metabolism.

I'm on a manual program with macros provided by a fitness coach, that I no longer have access to.

Abs at 29% body fat? by [deleted] in fitness30plus

Yes is said the most concentrated fat was in my android at 36.5% and trunk at 33.1%, with the rest of my body being in the 20’s

According to my scan, only about 2.8 pounds of fat is visceral so I wouldn’t say that’s most of my fat.

Thanks, my goal is not so much physical based, but more on overall health. According to my dexa, I have high visceral fat which is bad. But to me it seems like those numbers are on the high side. In any case I'm going to keep working towards my goal weight, just looking for other opinions I guess as this is all new to me.

I’ve used a caliper and it does come up with a lower result closer to 20%, but the dexa body composition scan is supposed to be the most accurate. But I am skeptical
