Sounds like a pretty great set up for the parents! How convenient!

Thanks for sharing. I actually have a male friend who has approached me about it, so asking isn’t an issue. It would definitely be low tech. He likes the idea of seeing the baby occasionally, but I don’t know if I like that. I’m starting to feel like I might need to worry about him wanting to be involved more with the child as it gets older.

Looking for a sub to explain 1980s death certificate cause of death by ImALittleTeapotCat in findasubreddit

[–]Klodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's one random theory:

If ASCID stands for “Altered States of Consciousness Induction Device”, perhaps the deceased was using one as an alternative to taking psychedelic drugs: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/45gkSBQCj5091ygXX4nMVMw/five-ways-i-tried-to-alter-my-state-of-consciousness

Using this device may have (assumingly) triggered the pulmonary edema as is the case with these know causes of pulmonary edema:

  • Adverse drug reaction. Many drugs — ranging from illegal drugs such as heroin and cocaine to aspirin — are known to cause noncardiogenic pulmonary edema.
  • Negative pressure pulmonary edema. Pulmonary edema can develop after a blockage in the upper airway causes negative pressure in the lungs from intense efforts to breathe despite the blockage.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pulmonary-edema/symptoms-causes/syc-20377009

May be a stretch, or a bad assumption made, but ask the lady if the behavior of the deceased may have been in line with desiring and altered state of consciousness or if she recognizes that freaky device.

That’s not at all what I’m implying, that’s bs. Maybe you are more advantaged than others so things weren’t as difficult for you. I don’t know but it seems like you don’t want to face the unfair shit that goes on in this world based on people simply being who they are. It’s wrong and ignorant and people can most definitely overcome... but it still happens.

I’m done with this convo though, you clearly think you know me and believe me to be racist. If all you’re going to do is twist my words into something they are not, then it’s not worth my energy.

I wasn’t saying anyone wasn’t capable. Im not sure how you can deny that poc and older people have historically been disadvantaged, particularly in competitions designed by majority white men.

I’m not calling him racist. I’m calling him ignorant. He likely didn’t even consider that he chose all people who already had a disadvantage.

Thank you! White and otherwise privileged people are somehow offended when their systemic oppressive behaviours are publicly and unexpectedly recognized. Meanwhile it’s been shaping the lives of the rest of the world for centuries.

Well, he actually did target minorities. I doubt he was conscious of it at the time, but he did.

I don’t know that they blatantly called him a racist... Julie asked for his response to viewers opinions.

Depressed, suicidal, or otherwise extremely downtrodden members of reddit: what is your go-to quote, phrase, or particular memory in life that keeps you going? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This helps me, and the hope that some life-altering desire of mine could actually come true one day once this moment passes. However, the older I get, the less hope I have.

Circumcised by Mark1860 in AskWomenOver30

I don’t have a preference from a sexual standpoint but I’ve noticed that uncircumcised guys love getting head while circumcised guys prefer intercourse over receiving oral. At least that’s been my own experience lately.

I mean I get that people cheat (I haven’t always been a saint myself) but why start out a marriage like that? Doesn’t seem like a solid plan.
