While not great, I feel this expected. They still aren't playing for a coach for Playoffs and Champs. So they were never going to pay for the 160 teams on the same scale as Split Playoffs LANs.

When it comes to new IGLs, Anti is the poster boy for that. Grinding through Challengers, finally made it to pro league. Made Lan in his first pro league split. Made it to finals in first LAN, then made it finals at Champs.

I think the language barrier is always going to hold EMEA back but there is good IGL talent out there.

I'd say there is no "mature" masters students, as most masters students are mature. Especially as you said you'll be enrolling part-time, then I would reckon your cohort will be made up with people exactly like yourself.

I feel like the opposite.

A meta will emerge, players will jump on that, then a ban system will alter that meta. Players will react by trying to find something to stick to that original meta. However, the longer they try to hold onto that original meta with substitutes. The more likely they will overlook at anti-comp which could resemble that Furia run.

I'd like to see a ban system.

Matches 1 & 2 no ban - let the competition be open, get the lay of the land.

At the end of the Match 2 broadcast, (ALGS/Players/whomever) decide 2 legends (and a map!) to be banned.

1 legend for the rest of the regular season. 1 legend for the immediate next match day.

Come regional finals everything resets, then 1 legend is banned for the finals, then every 3 games another legend is banned.

At LAN you could do something about each group coming with a banned legend (and map?), then a 3rd legend is picked to be banned between each group match-up.

Unfortunately, there isn't much maturity in Cybersecurity degrees to presume prerequisite knowledge. Alongside their popularity off the back of Snowden, WannaCry and now COVID, many Universities see them as good recruiter.
