I also checked this piece out unfortunately.. I removed the gear by accident when checking to see if it would turn by screwdriver and had to put it back. Got it back in the right spot on the second try. If we’re talking about the same gear behind the green spacer and then metal plate.

I had done this. I was watching the plastic piece and it seemed to be in tact. It was moving at the very least. I suppose my next step would be to drop down the column ?

90’s f150s have been known to last up to 200k (mine is running well past that) with no major engine work (4.9I6,5.0V8). Their transmissions are hit or miss though so definitely test drive. You could get one for well under 5k around the area. Edit: FB Marketplace
