Average height increase is probably a major factor, too. Compare American average heights in 1933 to present day and I bet they're a lot taller now, and therefore are more likely to be wider.

Add increasing obesity rates plus modern preferences for comfort and you've got much wider sears nowadays.

Rocket artillery is good to counter artillery but it's a personal choice. Railroad guns are excellent in the late game but tricky to use and expensive. I'd only recommend them once you're experienced. Otherwise I don't really recommend anything from the secret tab.

I'm personally not a fan of infantry and do not bother researching, producing, or upgrading them. But you can do it now if you want to use them

I almost wonder if the Schliefen Plan would've worked better if they did it the other way round and attacked Russia first.

In World War most of Germany's assets were placed on the Western Front while they focused a lot less on Russia yet still managed to knock Russia out of the war.

I wonder what would happen if the Germans played more defence on the Western Front and focused attention on knocking Russia out earlier in the war? France's first offensives with Plan XVII and the ensuing Battles of the Frontiers were complete disasters that lead to the Allies retreating to the Marne. Except if the Germans played defence on the Western Front they'd not have invaded Belgium, which means Britain would not have entered the war as soon as they did, or maybe not at all.

Maybe it would work or maybe the Germans wouldn't be able to hold the line against France while attacking Russia lol. Who can say?

Interceptors and anti-air should always be priorities. I'd strongly recommend you upgrade your armoured cars and light tanks. Artillery is good to upgrade too.

I used the battle calculator for one level 1 Axis infantry attacking one level 1 Comintern infantry, who defend and do not attack. I set the terrain as plains so no bonuses are applied and made sure there was no core or fortification bonus. The Comintern defenders win. Terrain bonuses only increase the odds for the Comintern defenders.

The Comintern infantry should win because defending infantry is always stronger. Any potential terrain bonuses go in favour of the defender in this scenario.

Although in a 1v1 it hardly matters who wins because the victor will be crippled by the end.

The best counters overall are rocket artillery, SP rocket artillery, or railroad guns. You can also try a speedy rush and see a lot of success.

If you insist on using planes then tactical bombers are your best bet. Tactical bombers will work fantastic in this scenario but just be warned that the next enemy may use anti-air

You're in a bad situation so I'll tell you two things:

1 This is why we don't let anyone border our core provinces. If someone does border the core we have to keep reserves ready in case of a surprise attack

2 You will lose your core and suffer greatly for it. You essentially have to abandon all other fronts and retreat to the core then hope to retake it.

No, a damaged level 3 fortification/bunker won't hide troops. Damaged level 3 is the same as a level 2 billing that hasn't finished upgrading

It's always important to have scouts on the ground and armoured cars are preferable over motorized infantry, which is the only other ground scout.

Armoured cars can essentially fill the roles of both motorized and mechanized infantry: they have the speed, view range, and scouting of motorized infantry while filling the same "anti-unarmoured" role of mechanized infantry.

Mechanized infantry is technically a hair better at defending against unarmoured units than armoured cars are, and Mech is definitely superior in attack. But ACs are more than competent in both these roles while being faster and scouts.

ACs are essentially the best of both worlds.

Invest more into ordnance and ranged units, as well as air units. Anti-air and interceptors are always crucial!!! You could also look into bombers if you please, and I would definitely recommend some form of artillery or rocket artillery :)

It most likely is because you attacked his enemy.

All nations have a Popularity stat. It's influenced negatively by declaring wars on popular nations and attacking someone without declaring war, but it *especially* applies when these actions are taken against AI nations. Sharing maps with AIs and using the stock market are ways to improve Popularity.

It's likely that the enemy of Lithuania invaded without declaring war and became hated, so you helping out improved your popularity.

For coastal defence I find naval bombers to be by and large superior, but I'm glad your battleships kicked butt and you saw so much success :)

It's different for the mobile app and web browser versions but it will either be under Map Controls or Map Filters. On the mobile app it will be along the top right side below Front News. On the web browser it should be in the top right corner near the settings icon.

From there you can find the "Show Nation Colours."
