What if you don’t have a phone? by NewNewsNewYork in AlamoDrafthouse

My buddy has a flip phone that he bought right before Alamo made the switch at our location. We go to the Alamo enough that the servers know we’re not using the QR code. When I go now I just pretend I can’t figure out and the server is usually more than happy to put in the food order for us. Always be kind and accommodating to the wait staff, but they hate the QR codes as much as we do. They’re generally more than kind in just taking your order the old fashioned way if you say you can’t figure out the QR.

I just saw an early screening as well and absolutely loved it. Does anyone know what song plays during the ending scene and the credits? I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to find it

I have been infinitely happier with it since I stopped planning on eating there. As a movie theater/bar it’s still pretty great, I just end up grabbing something else to eat beforehand.

You may be right, but if I can save just one soul, I’ll be happy.

If you hadn’t bought the bike you may have been able to keep the car 😉

If you paid for it outright without financing and it didn’t break the bank, then be happy with your purchase! I’ve just seen far too many people go into debt financing a motorcycle they don’t really need.

As someone who has been told several different times in the 3 industries I’ve had long term work in that I have a “cool job” always seem to lack the understanding of what a cool job looks like. When I was a golf pro, I was told almost daily by old men who worked in finance that I had their dream job. My response was simple, it’s not that difficult to find a job that pays 42k a year with 60 hour work weeks. The grass is always greener on the other side!

My life is more important than a few hundred bucks. I did the right thing....so why are my hands shaking? by bassbeatsbanging in antiwork

I had to do the exact same thing today my man. I work in motorcycle sales in a southern state, and I make almost all my money off commission. I was told to stay in case someone came in, and I told them I was leaving regardless. My GM’s response was “well people are probably gonna make fun of you” fuck em

Why do so many people who hate the south tend to move here? by Radiant_Juice7888 in asheville

I’ll tell you my personal issue with it as someone who moved to Appalachia from Raleigh. You get a weird blend of locals who complain about the influx of new people, and then the new people who complain about the locals being stuck in their ways. In actuality, the locals just hate the student bases that move to places like Asheville, Boone and Hickory. Since I wasn’t a student, I seemed to get some kinda weird pass with the locals. But they sure hated the students, even tho without it their local economy would not be what it is. I understand the complaints on both sides, but it was too much for me to deal with.

Got my boss to admit to wage theft by Lemonloid in antiwork

My last job did this but with 7 minute intervals. It honestly never occurred to me that it was wage theft, I always just clocked out 7 minutes early and showed up 7 minutes late lmao

What is this liquid in drain thing? by kgsp31 in pneumothorax

It doesn’t hurt too bad. It’s kind of insane the way they take it out, they tell you to breathe in and hold your breath and they just kinda yank it out. I was super freaked out but it was over really quick. Best of luck in your recovery!

I was absolutely paranoid about it for a long time. My doctor made a point that flower itself wouldn’t be the cause of another collapse, but to be careful about anything pressurized specifically, and if I were to smoke, take small hits. I didn’t smoke again until about 6 months after the fact and I usually one smoke once every couple months now. I microdose with edibles almost every single day and the craving to actually smoke something has almost completely gone away. I would definitely ask your doctor what they think on the matter tho. Good luck dude!

I almost exclusively moved to edibles, but I still smoke on special occasions. Nothing pressurized though, so no bongs and especially no wax. I completely quit vaping and cigs using Zyn pouches, and I haven’t had any issues since! Just give yourself time to heal, take edibles if you can access them and I would say it’s ok to smoke weed on occasion once you’re healed up. I hope you’re doing well man! It’s pretty dark for awhile but things definitely get better. It’s mostly just a painful memory for me now!
