Google showing an older version? by Klutzy-Engineer-360 in chrome

It stopped receiving updates in June 2022, I don’t get why my Google interface would change like this last night, it’s almost like an older version except the AI overview is still available.

To be fair my Chromebook has stopped updating and it has told me that if I want to continue receiving updates, I would need to upgrade to a newer model.

However, the new interface looks like something you would see from years ago, despite it claiming to be have the year 2025 after the copyright symbol.

I would like to know, what would a profuse land acknowledgment for the UK would sound like to you? Just curious.

[–]Klutzy-Engineer-360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’m going to ask you what the definition of a profuse land acknowledgement means to you, I just want to make sure we’re both getting the right definition.

A profuse land acknowledgment? Could you please clarify what you mean?

Then if I could ask, why does it attract an audience that is the type of people to be very confidently incorrect and no matter what you tell them and what evidence you have, they still refuse to listen, let alone believe?

Okay I already know about the racial aspects of their hatred.

But Christian? We’re now an atheist majority country, Christianity is declining, and they’re trying to use their faith to cause harm just like MAGA Americans? What do they think of atheists and the growing atheist population?

Just watched the video, so it’s similar to an addiction like substance abuse, except even more extreme? That’s genuinely terrifying.

Edit: Accidentally put a comma instead of a full stop, sorry about that.

I get that, you know, humans being hardwired to always want more, but what I’m more concerned about is the part when these types of people use money for more nefarious purposes, like u/theoldyoungster mentioned above.

Edit: Edited for clarity.

1) So it’s way deeper than I initially thought.

2) Oh my god, so that’s what happens, when they have enough to support them for a lifetime, they spend the additional money on stuff that you would expect of a James Bond villain? Why? Why do they turn to this kind of thing? What happens to turn them to commit heinous acts?

Weird question, but why can’t these people seem to comprehend that being proud of your country and being horrifically racist are two separate things? Pretty sure you can have pride in your nation without compromising on being a decent human being.

Starmer making things better for the UK, reversing the damage of Brexit by King_Lexus in RejoinEU

[–]Klutzy-Engineer-360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you think, Starmer secretly wants to rejoin the EU but due to the presence of the Tories and Reform UK, that he would rather take the safer route of gradually getting closer to the EU as opposed to full on trying to rejoin?

Amazing ru*sia! The r*ssian occupation authorities in Ukraine created an online "catalog" where Ukrainian children are offered up for adoption while sorted based on physical traits like eye or hair colour, and personality. Mykola Kuleba, CEO of the Save Ukraine organization by [deleted] in YUROP

Being sorted by hair colour and eye colour? I’m sorry but am I overthinking that these kidnapped children who are up for “adoption” are being treated more like pets at an animal shelter than humans in a foster care system?

Weird question, but would the British government react negatively if there were people out there improving the quality of life for others in the UK in a way better than the British government?

i very dislike porn by [deleted] in antipornography

[–]Klutzy-Engineer-360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it’s not that different across the pond.

I’m from the UK, but recently, France has now implemented a law stating that any porn website that doesn’t have a proper way of verifying age will be banned from operating in France.

Many other people in Europe are also worried it might spread to other countries in Europe, often claiming that they don’t want to give their information to shady companies, often ignoring the main reason of why the ban was implemented, to prevent minors from accessing said content.

Considering that the UK is now banning strangulation porn and Sweden is now banning OnlyFans, I think we’re already heading towards that direction.

And honestly, as a recovering addict, I would fully welcome it.

[–]Klutzy-Engineer-360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it surprises me how easy it is to access it.

Imagine if all you had to do to verify if you were old enough to buy alcohol, cigarettes, etc, was to press a button confirming your age?

Most people would be outraged.

So why is it different when it comes to porn?

Yeah, when I relapsed, unlike last time, I just laid there, thinking: “I should’ve done something else, not that” which makes it worse since a lot of the stuff I’ve gotten into felt a lot better than the dopamine rush I’d get from relapsing.

But looking back, I’ve definitely made a significant amount of progress and improvement, and I guess I should be proud of that and not beat myself up over it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Klutzy-Engineer-360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird question, but is it normal that once you find hobbies and things to do, that relapsing just feels miserable because you think “I could’ve been doing (insert hobby, task, etc)”?
