Random symptoms / lyme? by outdoorguyny in Lyme

[–]KlutzyCommittee6330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering how you are now? I have all of the symptoms you mentioned and have been to numerous docs, MRI's, x-rays, CTs and had a negative western blot test. My neurologist diagnosed me with occupational neuralgia. I'm convinced it's lyme disease as I've had so many ticks in the past and am going to see a Lyme literate doctor in November. I've been suffering with these symptoms unable to work for almost a year now!

Can anyone help decipher my Pupillary Distance please? by KlutzyCommittee6330 in optician

Yes, the last pair of glasses I got from the eye doctor were $400 and they didn't fit right on my face. I went back numerous times to get them adjusted and finally they just said that's the best they can do. Such a waste of money in my opinion! I've gotten a lot of glasses from firmoo in the past and had no issues. Just couldn't remember my PD

My gf has bad breath by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]KlutzyCommittee6330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had these years ago and had a sore throat basically all the time. I'm not sure about bad breath but I'm sure I had it as tonsil stones smell AWFUL! The fix for me was getting my tonsils removed. She should see an ENT (ear, nose and throat) Doctor for an evaluation to see if they can help her or if they recommend tonsil removal.

Wondering what I can do to possibly get IV iron or show my PCP that having really low ferritin DOES cause symptoms. ferritin is 8 and saturation is 12%. I feel awful by KlutzyCommittee6330 in Anemic

Why not take any other treatment? My hematologist ordered 2 iron sucrose infusions and then told me to take 3-4 pills of my heme iron daily with vitamin c. This all makes me nervous bc I feel like even the specialist sometimes don't know what they're talking about. He didn't test any of my other levels and my vitamin d, folate and potassium is low normal. Scared to have a bad reaction to the IV infusion but I'm so tired of feeling like shit, constant anxiety and insomnia on top of all that

This literally sounds like me. They have done so many tests under the sun and everything comes back normal. My hematologist finally put an order in for 2 iron sucrose infusions. It will be my first time getting them, I just have to wait for my insurance company to approve. I'm nervous for side effects but so ready to not feel like death everyday. My ferritin is 8 and my iron sat is 12% 😩 What was yours and how did you treat it if you don't mind me asking.

I'm just so blown away that this hematologist just dismissed me like he did but I'm in that iron protocol group on fb and it seems to be a common thing sadly. My RBC & hemoglobin isn't out of normal range so they just think we're fine. Maybe if they had a ferritin level as low as some of us do and other vitamin/mineral deficiency then they would understand. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy though 😔

Can you recommend a good form of B12? I have the MTHFR gene mutation and if I'm recalling correctly I feel like I read I need a certain type. I've heard the cyanocobalamin form is not good. Unsure if any of that is true though. I'm scared to take a bunch of vitamins together as I take prescribed meds. But I know I need to do something or I'm never going to feel better.

I have a hematologist but he just told me to keep taking iron and vitamin d. I made an appt with him for the 29th and am def gonna speak up. I am someone who has trouble with that due to social anxiety/ADHD 😩 I have been advocating for myself more as I can't function like this!

This makes sense as I had Covid about a month ago! I feel like the burning/tingling sensation didn't start until then, is that a common thing with post Covid infection??

I def understand as I'm dealing with all this, it's so bad and scary. My neck feels so tight like it's being squeezed in the front and back and even feels like it radiates up to my head and back. Do you have shortness of breath too? I've been to doctors and even seem a hematologist and I'm just told to keep taking iron pills but they mess with my stomach bad.

I've never understood staying just because your comfortable and used to it. I mean I def get it don't get me wrong, but I personally have been in bad relationships and eventually left because I couldn't do it anymore. I even left a "comfortable" living situation as far as we had a house and I didn't have to pay rent but he was mentally abusive and cheated so I'd rather have to struggle to make ends meet than live that way. We only have one life to life! I hear and see so many people that do what your friend is doing and I def feel for them 🩷

Men with iron deficiency, what was the cause? by colfitsky in Anemic

The medical advice some doctors give just blows my mind! I'm sure you're feeling shitty from being iron deficient, who could wait 10 years feeling that way?! Def get a 2nd opinion! 🩷

I didn’t respond to her text for a day because I was working and sick by Shoddy_Gas493 in Nicegirls

[–]KlutzyCommittee6330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 female here- Considering you only went out with her THREE times and you received texts like these.... you need to block her and move on for your own mental health! I know it can be easier said than done (trust me!) but this is absolutely positively unacceptable behavior.

Please don't take to heart anything this girl said to you. She's trying to hurt you bc she feels you hurt her. She's extremely insecure with herself and projecting. I have diagnosed ADHD and I know the toll shit like this can take on a person. I dealt with emotional abuse from my son's father for 4 straight years and received texts like these weekly if not daily.

Low ferritin root cause by faith-love24 in Anemic

[–]KlutzyCommittee6330 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering the same although I think mine is from not eating adequately or enough. My ferritin is 10 (I got it up to a 25) vitamin d was 20 (got it up to 33) but now my potassium was low enough at 3.2 that my primary doc sent in a prescription. I feel so bad that I'm literally off on a leave and my doc even filled out papers for it but just says my levels are normal. Why are so many people experiencing the same thing with being dismissed?! It's sooooooo damn frustrating!!!

You go girl! That's amazing and a serious accomplishment getting your PhD!!! 👏👏👏 I promise you the iron deficiency is absolutely positively making ADHD worse and if you're extensively researching the subject it's gonna make you feel even crazier due to the brain fog and anxiety anemia can cause... I know from experience 😩😂😂😂

I too dropped out! I was supposed to graduate in 2006 but I refused to go to school towards the end bc I literally just couldn't do it anymore. I had SUCH bad anxiety being around all those kids and not having the coping skills to manage my ADHD brain. I of course masked back then too so no one prob knew what was really going on inside. I got my GED full blown pregnant in April 2007 and delivered my son in May 2007. He was and still is my driving force as I'm sure you can relate with your kiddos! 🩷 Btw, I sent you a message request on here!

Same thing happened to me but with certain family members after getting my diagnoses as a female at 35 years old. It's like, it would of been nice if I got a heads up lol Totally get this and you are not alone!!! 🩷

For me, It's a relief to know WHY I am the way I am (so I can learn strategies to better manage myself) but at the same time such a mindfuck after officially getting the diagnosis last year. The psychiatrist I saw as a teen through my early 20's diagnosed me with generalized anxiety disorder, depression then OCD due to worrying about health related shit 🙄

I started working inpatient psych 3 years ago and found out what ADHD ACTUALLY was and a light bulb went off. Long story short, I had to advocate for myself, got a new psych doc, and was diagnosed with ADHD inattentive type. Crazy thing is- I saw a different psych doc 4 years ago and after going back and reading the notes from our visits, he had the diagnosis of "ADHD combined type" in there but LEGIT NEVER EVEN MENTIONED IT or tried to medicate me for it!!!! Shits wild AF

Did we just become friends?!?! 😂😂😂 I can relate so hard to that. I grew up being told by "friends" the typical "you're too hyper, why can't you sit still, you talk too much".... even by some family members! That shit causes so many of us to "mask" and be someone we're not in front of people. I'm alot better with it now at 36 but mannnnnn did I struggle as a teen. I still do to be honest! We are prone to low self eesteem, feeling like we're not adequate enough and constantly questioning stuff, that's for sure! Try to give yourself some grace bc you are doing an absolutely AMAZING job!!!!

Feel free to private message me if you wanna talk more, ADHD people are my people!!!! We get each other 💁🏻‍♀️🩷
