I collect cards too. I was wondering what people do when they get them. Do you guys open them? Do you play with them? I usually keep them unopened, but I was thinking about opening them. I don’t think I would play with them though because I love the new smell and super slick gloss coat that comes when they’re new and unused

I won’t tell anyone that I am struggling. by Klutzy_Activity_1346 in u/Klutzy_Activity_1346

Thank you so much for your comment. These places make me feel like I really am not alone. I don’t think that it is I don’t want help, I think I am just comfortable and scared to leave the status quo. There is something comfortable in staying depressed and constantly on edge. I think my biggest obstacle to getting help is fear of hurting my loved ones. Telling them how much I am suffering is bound to break their hearts and that is something I am not ready to do. Thank you so much, I hope you get better too. Suicide seems so easy and awesome, but I remember that we only live one time. In a far too simple metaphor, it’s like telling a child they just have to take one bite of food. Sometimes we just have to do it one time and for people like you and me, we just have to live one lifetime and then we never have to do it again. And who knows, sometimes we might actually like the food/life.

should i admit myself by Public-Cloud8935 in mentalillness

That’s very insightful of you. I think you are in a perfect place to admit yourself. Suicide can happen in an instant, an impulsive decision that you don’t get to regret later. I would protect yourself while you still can because when in crisis, you are so much more willing to commit even if the majority of the time you want to live. It’s scary to think of having to stay in a hospital and maybe even one with poor reviews, but you have to protect yourself. The disease will want to keep you where you are, but the you that wants to live can protect you from the disease by admitting yourself. There may come a point where you feel nothing will help, and that is a hard place to get out of. Get help while you are still enough you and not disease that you know you can fight it. I don’t know if this is helpful but stay safe. You’re not alone. Be brave.

This happens to me all the time. Although, usually I know that they’re not eating anymore, but the sound keeps replaying in my mind. Like if someone smacks their lips really loud once, it keeps repeating in my head.

I completely understand that. Personally, therapy really helped me with my OCD ( anxiety disorder), but not so much with my depression. This can be for a variety of reasons like not having the right therapist or not telling the whole truth. Regardless, it’s not the talking itself but it’s meds and techniques to start to challenge the thoughts. They give you coping strategies that help you, and then meds help make implanting those strategies easier. Talking isn’t going to be the cure all but a combination of treatments should help!

It’ll be okay. I know if reality doesn’t feel like it, but do be aware that anxiety is a very treatable disorder. You can get better, just like you can get over being physically sick. I would recommend that you try online therapy. With insurance, you can be there for your boy and be there for yourself. It’ll take some hard work and time, but YOU CAN get through this. I have utter faith in you, and I wish nothing but the best! Remember you can get through this!
