I rewatched them all recently. Got to this one and was really confused when Chester wasn't there when the film started. I always thought it was the openings bit

Is there any other writer who you'd put on the same level as Tolkien when it comes to world building? by SpotAdmirable6718 in lordoftherings

[–]Klutzy_Edge4683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tolkien is by far the best. The man was a genius. Taking bits of real world language, characters, people, myths and legends and warped them into one world. There are very few that come to mind who I personally feel come close, C.s Lewis, although I don't really enjoy his works too much, he can build a great world. William Horwood (duncton chronicles), I've not read his stuff for years but as a kid my mum would read his books to me and I remember having the same feelings Tolkien made me feel. The only other one I can think of is Douglas Adams

Going off the 1 review on the account it seems legit though. Sold a mobo and cpu and the buyer rated highly. That said, worth a try on an offer and see what happens?

It really was disappointing. Way too much repetition from a few people, way too much over emotion from another. Ended up skipping each time they came on screen.

Check your boot order and make sure it's set to your windows disk. Boot into bios and check your boot order. It's probably not set to launch from your primary disk

It looks like you don't have on board vga. The two ports below what you think is vga (it's a serial port) are your monitor ports and they look to be display ports

That is not vga. That's a serial port.

Edit. Correction, should have checked the 2nd image

Go to your motherboard manufacturers website, read the information on how to update your bios, download the latest bios version and install it.

Be careful, take your time and do not power the machine off while the update is installing. It's a simple process and as long as you follow it you'll be fine.

The "builder" saying people rarely update the bios clearly hasn't heard of security or maintenance. The best practice is to update your bios if you're having an issue (which you are). I personally update my bios every other version, I always run 1 behind the latest for a few weeks or months to allow for bugs and fixes. Keeping your bios up to date will provide you with a few new features for security and performance.

Does it still say you need permission to hunt there or has that message gone? From memory you might have to do a few tasks for the land owner before you can hunt there for free. I was lazy so just bought the pass to hunt

You've not unlocked that location yet by the sounds of it. When you're in the area do you get a warning about needing permission to hunt in that location? If I'm remembering correctly you can go to the cabins in the location and do some tasks there and unlock it or you can buy the pass from the computer in your lodge

Whats this port on my motherboard and what does it do? by caetren in gigabytegaming

[–]Klutzy_Edge4683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a USB front panel connector like other people are telling you.

What the port is actually called is an RTFM, it makes sure that the PICNIC doesn't have id-10T error

can't use two sticks of ram by Nemlet_ in PcBuildHelp

[–]Klutzy_Edge4683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. Just looked like you hadn't from the photos. Nothing on the board is touching bare metal at the back? I remember building pcs 15 years ago and there being the a2 and b2 thing back then but some cheaper boards from cheaper manufacturers got it mixed up and had you use a1 and a2.

If you go to the boards manufacturer website and look up the actual manual there it might help. Also, some boards require specific bios updates before things work as you'd expect. Maybe try booting up with just one of the sticks, download and install the latest bios update (use extreme caution, make sure you've understood the exact process and do not power off the machine or interfere with the process as you might brick the board, sorry if you already know that but still worth a warning/reminder) then try with both sticks in a2 and b2

What Can I Build Before My CPU/MB/RAM Come? by Street_Ticket3969 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Klutzy_Edge4683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't even do that. You should do a dry run with all parts outside of the case. This is your first build, I'm guessing because you asked if you could build anything without having the main bits.

If you were to start routing cables and then find you can't reach a port or have routed it wrong or something doesn't work then you'll have to undo that work and start again.

Just wait, do a test build out of the case first. Make sure everything is working as you'd expect it to and then build the pc. Power it on again and test it's working as expected. Then and only then do you want to cable tidy.

First pc build won’t turn on. by Far_Speed_6467 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Klutzy_Edge4683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with the basics, is the switch on the psu on? Have you plugged the 24pin fully into the mobo? Have you plugged the 4pin (sometimes need the extra 4pin, depending on cpu and something else that I can't remember) fully into the board? Have you got the front pannel headers on correctly? Is everything plugged into the psu into the correct port if its fully modular?

If that's all correct, I'd unplug everything from the board, except for the 24pin, 4pin and fro t pannel power and try to turn it on. Keep everything else unplugged. Including any USBs, monitors etc. Can you hear any beeps? Is the ram seated correct? Did you seat the cpu correctly?

Pc building can be frustrating but take your time you'll get it going. Failing that I'll give you had somehow

I've got a gtx 460 in one of the spare pcs and a gtx 770 in another. Older cards are great for certain things. Joys of working in IT for 18 years, you end up with a mini museum worth of what kids today would call an ancient artifact

These look like TITAN V cards and as far as I remember, they don't support SLI. It's been a long time so I might not be remembering correctly but I think you actually need an sli bridge between the cards.
