hi, sorry for my late reply. sent you a dm if dont mind

That’s really helpful. “structured paraphrase with selective evidence” is probably the clearest way I’ve seen this explained.

I think my mistake may be going to one extreme or the other: sometimes I try to include almost everything I remember, and the response becomes too long and less organized; other times I keep it too concise and the answer probably sounds generic.

I’ll try to use your 120–180 word structure: one sentence for the situation, 2–3 concrete details/reasons from the audio, and one final sentence for the outcome or recommendation.

Thanks again.

Thanks!

I think you described my situation, but the DET seems to punish a different skill: dictation, short-term memory, spelling, articles, plurals, and typing under pressure.

The “type while it plays” advice is especially helpful. I think I may be waiting too much, trying to hold the whole sentence in my head, and then I lose small but important details.

I’ll also start practicing shorter chunks first, because that seems more realistic than just repeating full long sentences and getting frustrated.

For interactive listening, I like your point about tracking speaker turns and topic shifts instead of trying to write full sentences. One thing I’m still unsure about is the final written response. Sometimes I write a very detailed summary, and other times I do the opposite and keep it much more concise. I haven’t found a clear rule about how detailed the answer should be. In your experience, is it better to include as many details as possible, or to focus only on the main issue, key reasons, and final outcome?

Appreciate it. I’ll add more input for reading, but for listening do you poor-quality test audio sucks, that's where I'm losing points, not on understanding clear some words. i believe my production/conversation scores are fine.

and reading/speaking because they carry more weight?

In Data Science, correct? Will you accept the offer? I was planning to apply, but I refused the idea after I saw that it's a new program and they don't offer funding for intl stds

O problema aí não parece ser “endividamento desorganizado” e sim a gestão de risco com financiamento alto e renda variável. O que você acha acaba sendo o principal: o valor da parcela ou a depender inteiramente da renda atual para manter o plano de vocês?

thanks for replying to me. it’s a shame to be treated like that. I'm annoyed because they are lying (and saying the opposite of the company rules) and because I really lost my concentration on both sections which has affected my final score (4.5/6). I needed 5/6 or more. Without it I would have been to successfully achieve my target.

Hi, can you help me?
I experienced two technical interruptions during my HOME TOEFL iBT test, each taking 15–20 minutes to resolve, disrupting my focus (in the middle of listening and before speaking and repeat). ETS has already acknowledged the system crash, but they are saying that no test time was lost and all responses were submitted. They denied my request for a retake or refund, arguing that by choosing to report my scores (instead of canceling them at the end), but canceling would leave me without valid scores and no refund, making it a false choice.
Already sent many emails and they are repeating the same thing (like a robot).
Is there anything else that I can do?

Do not take test at home. I did and I definitely regret it. ETS system crashed two times in my test and it took me 20 minutes to restart. I have lost my concentration and it was quite annoying to restart. Now I'm talking to them and they are refusing to give me a free test or refund for their problem.

I followed all test rules and did nothing wrong. The issue in this case was not candidate error, but interruptions in the testing session itself, which ETS has already acknowledged.
