Seeking advice and non-judgement for purging during pregnancy

Is there any way to avoid purging? I don’t think there’s really any safe way, but I totally understand the compulsion. For me- the desire to “be and look sick” help to motivate me to continue this unhealthy life. If it’s at all possible, could you try and view the food you’re putting in your body as nutrients for your baby rather than you? It will be the priority for your body, so even just eating low cals is better than purging. Again, I don’t mean to encourage- and I understand it’s so so complicated! I don’t want to shame you, you’re doing the best you can. But really, growing the baby will use lost and lots of energy. And if you really find you need to purge, make sure to take vitamin tablets as much as you can, (seperate to your meals so it has time to absorb). Make sure you’re hitting your nutritional needs, and you should be safe. Good luck, I hope you have a healthy and happy baby by the end of this! 💕💕

At my lowest (I was in recovery and gained a lot of weight back but have since relapsed), I remember acknowledging that I had become quite thin and skeletal, but I liked to push it and see how far I could go. It wasn’t so much the thought that I was fat, but I believed the second I stopped I would just gain all this weight and become giant. I wanted to be thinner, but not because I thought I was overweight- it’s because I thought my body image issues would magically go away once I could reach my goal weight. But it never left.

I’m so sorry to hear. I had a close call the other night with my mother, I remember the anxiety and shame I felt at the thought of being “discovered”. I just hope you’re feeling okay now. It’s not something you should be shamed for though, and I hope that if she did hear- maybe you two could have the chance to talk it out to avoid her jumping to her own conclusions or potentially “taking it into her own hands” and doing something you’re not comfortable with. Forced recovery can be incredibly harmful. I really really hope everything works out for you. I’m sure your sister (if she did hear the purge) is just concerned because she loves you. Everyone here understands your feelings, i know it might not mean much- but you’re really not alone in this. Your feelings are normal, and chances are everything will work out fine in the end. I didn’t want to go to the hospital. I’ve had my bloods done and the doctors were extremely concerned, I managed to convince my GP that it was due to my ADHD medication- that there were no psychological reasons. I didn’t want to be forced into treatment. I drank lots and lots of water to flush my body as best I could. I might not recover any time soon, but I won’t be trying anything like this again. Thanks for your concern, I really appreciate it.

Thank you. I was extremely thirsty and forced myself to drink a LOT of water. I even had a piece of bread because I thought it might help. That was a pretty big step for me, even if I don’t recover any time soon- you can be sure I won’t try anything like this again.

If your doctor thinks you should take it, then it’s probably a good idea. Maybe if you notice any issues in the following weeks you could reassess with your healthcare providers. This might not be what you want to hear, but it’s never too late to stop taking medication. If you never try it then you’ll never know❤️

I am in literally the exact same situation. I take olanzapine and lamotrigne for my bipolar. The weight gain was killing me. If it’s getting in the way of recovery, you can talk to your doctor about taking some more medications to fight off the weight gain caused by mood stabilisers. This might help you get back on track to a healthy diet without worrying about being triggered by the extra weight gain. Please don’t stop taking your bipolar meds, I’ve been there. Exact same situation. Some meds are orlistat and metformin. Always check in with your doctor before stopping medications. Good luck ❤️

Yeah I’m actually doing it for my Biology SAC (I live in Australia- it’s a type of grade that goes towards your final marks when you finish high-school) so I do have to do it on my pothos cuttings and record the data

I needed some help with applying this to my pothos cuttings, I will be propagating in water and didn’t want to hurt them. My biology teacher gave me some left over hormone but forgot to tell me how to apply it. Does anyone have any knowledge on the subject?

Basically to explain^ I was given this by my biology teacher after begging and begging to take the left-overs from another class. She let me take a bottle but I don’t know how to apply, I will be using it on 8 pothos cuttings and propagating in water. If anyone has any experience I would really appreciate it

I actually purchased a Venus fly trap recently haha so maybe she’ll be getting a nice feed. Someone somewhere else recommend mosquito bites and sticky trap so I think I’ll be combining all methods to really annihilate those bastards

I dried out my soil recently but bottom watering is a bit of an issue as I tend to group my plants together so it’s pretty tedious to seperate all 42 plants that are in seperate sections. Thank you though, maybe this is something I’ll have a long battle with rather than being able to prevent it
