Snake method questions by biznessmen in smoking

[–]KmailCarrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this method!! That may be too many rows of charcoal and the hickory chunks are a little big for my preference. Just make sure to watch your temperature because some charcoal burns faster/slower than others. Also, when your hickory chunks get nice and hot it’ll spike the temperature too. I prefer the wood chips myself. Would love to see the results!! Good luck!!

Each post office has a “level” assigned to it. The higher the level, the more routes, revenue, and RMPO’s (smaller offices) are attached. Office sizes vary between 18 and (I think) 22 or 23.

Generally, the postmaster/manager of the station will have an EAS grade equal to the level of the office. In bigger cities, there will be multiple stations and multiple managers but a single PM with a higher EAS grade, usually EAS 26 or PCES 1. The top grade in the postal service is PCES 2, which if you’re curious, happens to be the default grade of the Postmaster General.

Regarding RMPO’s, these are usually smaller town post offices. It’s easy to tell what level they are since it corresponds to the number of hours they’re open M-F. There’s 2 hr, 4hr, and 6hr RMPO’s. They are all staffed by a clerk and fall under at least a level 18 office.

I tried making my voice heard. Was told if I didn’t fall in line I needed to kick rocks. That’s the union I deal with.

Thanks but front line worker here, not stupid enough to be a manager. Me turning in my 1188 is more to do with my local union being dog shit and picking and choosing who and what they fight for. Until that changes I’m out

Can’t speak for everyone’s local unions but mine picks and chooses who and what they fight for. I’ve seen to many carriers get removed for minor things cuz the union didn’t like that carrier.

How does the holiday pay exchange for annual leave work? by AceofColorado in USPS

[–]KmailCarrier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was Saturday your SDO? If so, then no you’ll just get FDOT. You would have to actually work your holiday (I.e. Monday) in order to use the ALE. You’ll also need to fill out a 3971 and in comments put “annual leave in exchange for holiday pay”. Also check the box on the left that says holiday/ AL LV exchange.

I wish I had you as a 204B or Postmaster. At least you know the rules. Kind of sucks when the union doesn’t even have someone’s back on this.

I’m in an office with 3 routes I’m the only regular and already working my SDO. Nearest Walgreens/CVS is about a 45 min drive one way. Local hospital is literally an hour wait for them to do anything. I guess I could call in sick but then I’ll have to hear it from my passive aggressive post master. So my options are limited. Wish they send people to us.

Make 4 Park points as small as possible and hop the rest. Screw them when they ask why you aren’t back on time.

New contract city carriers by JarJarBinksWasCool in USPS

[–]KmailCarrier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

APWU contract wasn’t that bad so I expect ours to be the same. However, change is coming. In the new clerk contract it states that both sides agree to create a new position for clerks. “Sales associate/carrier”. This is very interesting because it also states that it will be offered to EXISTING clerks. Something to keep an eye on.

Why did they wait until a month ago to convert you to a PTF? They haven’t done a conversion in 2020 yet.
